Pretty sure there’s a picture of Obama doing this too. It’s just being respectful while performing diplomacy. Sure, you can argue that this shouldn’t happen with Israel, but cherry picking R’s doing this and ignoring ALL OF THE D’s that did it too is just dishonest. This is misinformation.

yeah and Obama was also a cuck for Israel for doing it. I agree we should show ALL of our leaders at the cucking-wall.

All our leadership are cucks for Israel and it is in fact, very weird.

Yes, we need bases and support in the middle-east, sure, makes sense. But it’s ridiculous to think there’s been no other way to exert political will in the region. Let’s just admit that our country is a corporation and it’s very profitable to have a reliable weapon-buyer and test-bed for all our new gadgets and killing tools.

I have had Dems complaint about “one sided criticism” when Biden was in power but this is the first time it has happened for Trump.

It’s getting highlighted online because Mike Johnson is on a fealty swearing trip in Israel right now.

And Holy Shit, look at the top results… Is that Obama I see? Oh wow… And a bunch of other people too? Shiiiiiit. It’s almost like there’s more nuance to the issue than some hastily thrown together tweet taking shit out of context.

This would be hilarious if I didn’t think you were a registered voter who thinks they are “informed” when they can’t even do a basic search. Ffs, I don’t even know the name of the damn wall, I just guessed. Now I know it’s the Western Wall, and can even learn more about it, because I did 5 seconds of research.

Media literacy in this country is dead.

Edit: alright, fuck it, in my haste I didn’t see you said other countries. My bad there. But I’m leaving all of this, because…

There is exactly zero nuance in this comment. Obama hadn’t been throwing around near the rhetoric that Trump and his cronies have.

Israel has always (afaik) been an ally. The difference is the fanaticism and devotion our leaders demand we give to another country.

rule of thumb. it’s ok to punch upwards and laterally in comedy,

given that Christianity is basically the default state religion in most developed countries, making fun of it is sort of punching upwards.

but unless you’re part of the minority, it’s likely you’ll say some really stupid stuff if you make fun of said minority and it’ll likely sound hateful and ignorant.

and to make it clear. those politicians are zionists, they are doing it to appease their AIPAC donor. they are not Jewish and do not support jews or their communities. look how the only loud antizionist politician in the US has the support of his Jewish constituents.

yes, the reason to be sensitive about Judaism is the robust history and present of oppression Jews have experienced. It’s unfortunate that Israel uses this as a basis of dismissing legitimate criticism of their crimes as anti-Semitism.

For comparison, imagine a Black ethno-state committing genocide (e.g. like in Ethiopia) and then dismissing critics as merely racists.

I would say judaism should be seen as at least as special islam and christianity since it’s an abrahamic religion and rarer than both. So if you’re okay to say that neither of those are special, only then is it consistent to say that judaism is not special.

Probably something about millions of them being tortured and killed in concentration camps that makes mocking the Jewish people kinda taboo.

For the most part, they’ve been pretty chill about the whole thing, frankly… But those cuts run deeeep. I’m not Jewish, and even I’m disgusted by how they were rounded up and slaughtered like cattle for no reason other than being who they are.

The biggest issue that I think you’re going to face is that most people can’t differentiate between the Jewish faith and the Jewish people (who may or may not believe in the Jewish faith).

Generally, I don’t think that making fun of the faith is any more or less taboo than poking fun at Christians or Catholics or whatever… But making fun of the Jewish people, is generally a no fly zone.

Since people lack the intelligence, awareness, and shits to give, in order to see that being Jewish and believing in the Jewish faith are separate. So if you make fun of one, you’re making fun of both.

Edit: let me back up for a second to say: I’m just trying to explain the behaviour. I am neither Jewish, nor a fan of the Jewish people, nor do I have any strong feelings against them per-se. This message is only discussing how others tend to see the Jewish people/faith/whatever. It does not, in whole or in part, express how I feel about anything at all, ever, for any reason.

Oh, I don’t think that’s taboo at all. That’s basically the common fare.

My entire point is that people will conflate mocking the Jewish religion, for mocking the Jewish people; which will get them up on a high horse and unhappy and/or angry with you for being antisemitic.

Holocaust survivors are few and far between but the zionists keep milking that cow (neglecting the fact the nazis didn’t target only jews).

Palestine has been suffering their own continued holocaust for over 70 years, perpetrated by the zionists.
Yeah people conflate race, culture, ethnicity, religion and what not into “being jew” because they themselves do that, so that they can claim any criticism is antisemitism.

Trump’s approval rating is listed at 35%. Was I, an American, ever polled on this? No. Am I rejecting it outright because clearly based on my own experience the sample size was not 100%? Nope.

If the Jewish population, especially those living in Israel, don’t want to be lumped in with genocide, they can do something about it. Same as Americans who don’t want to be lumped in with those committing the destruction of the American country. I’m lumped in until I do something about it, and that’s fair. Want a good name? Probably. I’m not going to argue about what’s happening over there.

People seem to have a lot of opinions on it and the only strong feelings I have about it are that people should stop killing eachother because grown men who are supposed to be leaders of their respective nations, cannot make peace because they’re too childish to have sympathy, empathy, and any shreds of humanity to not starve, bomb, kill, maim, or otherwise destroy eachother.

The reasons why they’re doing what they’re doing, IMO, are not as important as the lives they’re ending in the process.
