Am I just a pessimist, or is it starting to appear as if escalation of conflict in the Middle East is inevitable?

I can’t think of a time in my life where the Middle East didn’t have some kinda shit going on.

Yes western imperialism has been at an impasse with religious fanatics who prefer living in the dirt for much longer than you’ve been alive.

You have on one side blind western greed and pragmatism and on the other blind mideastern greed and idealism. It’s intractable. Can’t say I have any sympathy at all for people whose idea of good government is having some muckety muck from church come to your house and shoot your mother in the head because she taught you to read when you were a little girl (looking at you, Afghanistan).

Not like the Zionists are any better. They don’t care if you teach your daughter to read as long as they can pick the book, otherwise they will bomb your dirt hut and the whole village into still dirt but just more spread out again.

Iran seems determined to stir up as much shit as possible. This is a huge strategic benefit to their allies in Moscow.

From 10/7 to Red Sea shipping disruptions. all of this is part of russias geopolitical strategy. Right wing Russia friendly governments will come to power because of this. NATO will be weakened. In some ways all of this is in the hopes that you might chose not to vote for Joe Biden next fall.

We were just doing Nazi shit and then they attacked us for no reason!

What an insanely backwards analysis you have. Israel did nothing wrong guys this man said so.

These attacks on American bases are a direct response for America committing genocide in Palestine.

I guess history for Americans starts at any point they receive a retaliatory strike for their aggression.

As long as Biden is an israeli doggo then of course it will escalate. It’s like asking why supporting Nazi Germany is a powder keg. De-escalation is not possible while giving those guys billions in weapons to continue their genocide with.

I don’t care what you say. If you attack an American without provocation you should get this kind of response. Shareholders, businesses, capitalism are not the reason for this.

The biggest problem is, they lost our trust. They lied their way into countless wars for profit, and now our first thought on hearing something like this is “I bet they staged that to start another war”

Fuck the US war machine, and fuck the people that support it

Fair and valid, But i will still support reactions like this to verified instances of attacks on our troops.

To be fair though “countless wars for profit” is an exaggeration. I would agree with “to many wars for profit” one would be to many. I do agree with your sentiment overall.

Why are our troops there? They are there to support a genocidal regime, our ally. Our presence there was the problem, not the response to it.

“Shall we leave our illegal military base here?”

“No we stole this land fair and square we have the right to defend it”
