EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said very plainly during a speech at the University of Valladolid in Spain that Israel financed Hamas in an effort to weaken the then-governing Palestinian Authority.

“Yes, Hamas was financed by the government of Israel in an attempt to weaken the Palestinian Authority led by Fatah,” Borrell said without elaborating, Reuters reported.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has previously denied such allegations. He has also decried other remarks from the EU and the United Nations as sympathetic to Hamas.

That is elaborating… What a weird way to write a sentence.

It is well documented and understood. It’s easily searchable and viewable to anyone with internet access. If you don’t believe him then first: look it up, and second: you’re really out of touch. It’s really not anything that needs to be explained to most people following the situation.

There’s a lot of misinformation being spread about everything going on in Gaza. It’s wise to not believe anything without proof.

Yes indeed. The IDF is lying about Hamas bases underneath hospitals. We must be very careful to believe any of their lies.

Luckily this certain case of Netanyahu financing Hamas is very well documented and supported with mountains of actual evidence, unlike the IDF propaganda many mainstream papers like to show us
