Four people were wounded after a shooter opened fire at a Walmart near Dayton, Ohio, before taking his own life Monday night, police said.

      I don’t understand why there are suicidal people who feel compelled to murder before they kill themselves. Geez. Thankfully no one died - today. I’m sure there will be another one tomorrow though. We really need a powerful anti-NRA. I’d pay monthly dues for that.

        You need a powerful education system with robust mental health support. Things don’t happen in a vacuum.

        Ed: also hilariously something you already pay dues for but do not get.

        We really do need something like that. I’d pay dues as well. I’m really surprised we haven’t reached a tipping point yet. What else has to happen before we realize doing nothing doesn’t work.

        I just don’t understand why suicidal people committed to go out with murder don’t kill rapists and other criminal types. if you have to take someone with you…

    Just for context, this store is in one of the “nice” suburbs of Dayton. The police-involved shooting at the same store a few years back wasn’t a huge surprise, but this one sort of is.

    Not that these things have any rhyme or reason, but a nicer neighborhood does give you an illusion of safety.

      What makes you think this is a nice area? I haven’t lived in this area for about 10 years, but it wasn’t great then either. It’s a mall area right by the highway, so there will be all kinds of people.
