      3rd party docks for the most part being incompatible with Switch 2 isn’t news but they explain why. They show using a USB analyzer dongle what the communication between the Switch 2 console and its dock is and what happens with generic docks. An interesting view imo.

        oh, so just stuff I already knew lol. i was looking into 3rd party docks for S2 and found there are basically none aside from a shotty aliexpress one. Yeah not a fan of the change.

          well, it’s not a news reel. That my compact dock isn’t working is something I know since June but I never saw the output of such an analyzer dongle, so I found it interesting nonetheless.

          I didn’t even realize that (loads no thumbnail on my Lemmy instance), I use DeArrow on YouTube, and while watching the video I did not look at the controllers. Apparently the joycon have a custom skin. There’s a comment on YouTube from someone also confused.
