• Blood Incantation (ambiant stuff or death metal)
• Fantômas (Director’s Cut or Delirium Cordia)

Without vocals:

• The Bakerton Group (basically Clutch without the vocals)
• “Slow” tracks on the latest Cattle Decapitation albums (they always have 1 or 2 of these, usually right before the last track)
• John Petrucci - Terminal Velocity
• Estradasphere
• Ophidius (Skyrim-inspired death metal)
• Nova Collective

Band that sings about polish patriotism, signed on a NSBM label, hard pass

You should try Devin Townsend, he sometimes does songs that feel (to me) like gospel metal or “happy metal”

Do mind that he’s still a metalhead and some of his stuff is musically extreme to the untrained ear

I haven’t missed a single album yet, and David Davidson is the most impressive guitarist I’ve seen live, so I’ll get it even if it were old school “basic” death metal

Revocation is (or at least used to be) the greatest mix of melodic thrash and death metal

Not that their recent work is bad in any way, it just lost a bit of that melodic thrash vibe
