12 News attempted to both-sides their fact checking by holding Kamala Harris to an absolutely ridiculous standard. According to them, if the claim isn’t 100% provably true, it is, at least, misleading.

They fact-checked 4 claims by the Vice-President in her speech. 2 were judged true: that Trump called for the termination of the Constitution and that he intends to end the Affordable Care Act. The other 2 claims they called “Misleading”.

Harris stated what we all saw, that Trump sandbagged the border security bill. The 12-news fact-check called this “misleading” because “Trump took credit for the deal falling through but he doesn’t have a vote in Congress and he was not the head of the Republican party at the time. The only people who could actually kill the deal were those who voted against it.” While this statement is technically true, it is also true that the bill was going to pass before Trump asked Republicans to vote against it, and they did, so it failed. Harris’s claim is TRUE.

Haris also stated that “He intends to cut Social Security and Medicare.”, a statement judged misleading by the “fact-checkers” because he wants to cut Social Security taxes, thus bankrupting the system. However, Project 2025, written by Trump appointees and sycophants to be his policy, clearly states this intent. Again, Harris’s statement is TRUE.
