I’ve seen this a dozen times. What’s always striking to me is that personally, I feel I’ve lost the capability to talk to strangers in public like that. Could be the young age of the group, they’re just more outgoing, or maybe they’ve had a few to drink. Could be the novelty of their video camera. But possibly it could be a broader cultural shift from then to now. I’m sure there evidence out there for the latter, because I certainly don’t see many people interacting this way anymore. Nowadays, I’d feel like I was bothering people just trying to do their jobs and get through the day.
