Welcome home Corbin Carroll! He got some nice recognition from his hometown announcer during the introductions, as well as a nice reception from the fans.
Dammit Arraez, if that caught stealing keeps Corbin from getting his 2nd AB in this game, I may never forgive you, no matter how amazing a hitter you are.

I’m thinking they’ll replace Corbin after his 2nd AB (give the hometown guy at least 2 ABs), and when they do, he’ll be replaced by Lourdes Gurriel Jr. so we get some Pinapower!

Wasn’t a 1-2-3 inning in the 1st, for Zac but that works.
It’s been a while since the NL has won an ASG. Betting lines have the NL as a slight favorite for this game, but that optimism is tempered by the fact that articles discussing it, can’t even get Corbin Carroll’s name right. Consider this item from the Sporting News posted today:
I don’t have to tell you about Corbin Carroll, but I will gush anyway. He is a rookie who plays like an old-school phenom. He has all 5 tools and uses them in the most exciting ways imaginable. He’s got the inside-track to Rookie of the Year and the MVP is certainly within reach. We haven’t seen a player this exciting come around Arizona in quite a while.
Gotta love the graphic from the ClutchPoint’s article on Zac Gallen’s trade by the Cardinals, though it does seem to be something of a standard for them.

That’s a fun way to start the game. Two plays at the wall on the 1st 2 batters. The 1st one looked harder than it was. Arozarena’s was excellent.
