Good thing people fucked around for months about ‘genocide Joe’ so we could get this deranged shitbag and Elon Musk in charge instead.

Awesome sources in this community. The quote professor’s explanation there is pretty pathetic, logic wise, and is manipulative. I wonder if the Daily Mail has an agenda? Ha. Anyway, maybe there’s a reasonable explanation for this: Intelligent people are often less happy than people who are too ignorant and dense to be aware.

federal whistleblowers raising concerns about ORR placing many of the 291,000 children with unsuitable sponsors.
Hey, why not just imprison them in camps and totally lose track who their parents are? Trump’s fascist friends did that previously, of course.

Yep. It’s about cutting regulations that affect him, and taking revenge on agencies that have attempted to regulate his businesses. It’s about Elron’s ego and money. Truly a vile abuse of power.
“DOGE” is doing absolutely nothing of the sort. What an insane sham. It’s shocking and disgusting that people actually would be dishonest or stupid enough to write articles as if they believe that is the actual mission of “DOGE” and fucking Musk could actually accomplish it.
zeppo@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why people consistently vote against their own interests to benefit the rich?English7·8 months agoThey get manipulated about and distracted by certain issues. The people who want power know this and exploit topics such as guns, abortion, fear of crime, racism/nationalism, sexism, economic issues and taxes. Plenty of people vote republican because they have been convinced that Democrats will take their guns, allow in too many immigrants (with the implicit idea that immigrants are bad somehow), be worse on the economy, raise taxes, let criminals get off easy, reduce the influence of Christianity, and so forth.
There’s also the decades of propaganda about socialism and communism, and against social safety nets as well as government and anything run by the government vs a private entity. So basically, because they’re not very aware or well informed and all themselves to be convinced by propaganda.

Also, as countless people have pointed out, if they care so passionately about Palestinians, their activities are contrary to helping Palestine so…

zeppo@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How is it possible for the IT experts to recover data that was erased from a hard drive when the storage of said hard drive appears empty?English40·10 months agoBecause of how filesystems work. There’s basically an index that tells the OS what files are stored where on the disk. The quickest way of deletion simply removes the entry in that table. The data is still there, though. So a data recovery program would read the entire disk and try to rebuild the file allocation table or whatever by detecting the beginning and ends of files. This worked better on mechanical drives than SSDs.
zeppo@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is Kamala Harris being held at such a higher standard than Trump this election?English181·10 months agoA nice illustration is Republican media operatives are trying to attack Harris with “we checked with McDonald’s corporate and they have no record of her working there!”. For one, McD’s is franchisees and I doubt corporate tracks every burger flipper. Next, of course they’re trying to claim she’s dishonest, but what about the greater question: Did fuckin Trump ever come anywhere near McDonald’s? No, he inherited about $400 million, has misconstrued it it repeatedly (‘a small loan of a million dollars’, as if that is relatable either) and has never had any sort of normal job that required discipline or labor, ever.
zeppo@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is Kamala Harris being held at such a higher standard than Trump this election?English3·10 months agoI’ve started to wonder if it’s even a real person. zeppo@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is Kamala Harris being held at such a higher standard than Trump this election?English2·10 months agoWhat he’s saying makes no sense at all, in real life. Voting for candidates who support voting reform at the state level is the way to get more choices on national ballots. Convincing otherwise D voters to vote for 3rd parties helps Trump. Maybe not MAGA scum, maybe just misguided and clueless? Who can tell.
zeppo@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is Kamala Harris being held at such a higher standard than Trump this election?English1·10 months agoBest I can tell, the sinister goal of getting Trump elected because this tripe sure isn’t going to help Palestinians.

zeppo@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is Kamala Harris being held at such a higher standard than Trump this election?English6·10 months agoThere have been people pushing this on Lemmy all year (previously against Biden) and that’s correct. They can never really respond to logic about how their concepts would result in Trump being more likely to win, which would be worse for Palestinians. Or how Trump’s many other horrific policies would be worse for a huge number of other people, such as Central Americans and trans people. Just “genocide bro!!” over and over.
There have been a few pathetic attempts at making logic for it like “I can’t vote to support genocide!” (As in, vote 3rd party? So, convince an other wise D voter to vote 3rd party - who does that help? Huh) or “we need to send the democrats a message so they reform!”. Not by throwing the election to Trump, no. Someone a few months ago was insisting “we’re just not supporting Biden now to pressure him, then of course we’ll vote for him in the general election”. Ah yes, by smearing him all over social media for months, you’re supporting Biden and progressive politics. I totally believe that.
zeppo@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is Kamala Harris being held at such a higher standard than Trump this election?English31·10 months agoSeems fitting since you simply ignore the replies and logic that don’t fit your goals, whatever those may be.
They used to be better. I had a lot of success when they were relatively new. However the culture around them has gotten worse and more toxic, and the companies have grown more abusive of customers. Just what I gather… I haven’t tried since 2019.
Tinder was okay for meeting people interested in actual relationships when it was newer. It seemed to turn into more of purely a shallow hookup site. I tried Bumble, and that worked, though it apparently is not as good as it used to be. Never tried Hinge or any of the others.
Thinking more about psychology helped me have success on the apps. Don’t be boring, start real conversations. I got some very good advice once from a friend, which was “if a girl is on tinder, she’s horny”. I was… oh. That makes sense. It helped me be less nervous. You could also say lonely or bored. In my experience it’s not hard to figure out if someone is after the same things as you are. I’ve never used them to just hookup, only find steady girlfriends. I did find some situations more like hookups, casual GFs or FWB though. A few dates fizzled. I’ve gotten together with about 15 women I met on Tinder/Bumble and 6 of them turned into steady relationships. I can’t say they were the most sane people I’ve ever met.
