Lol “as good as intellij” what the actual fuck.
I cannot imagine how much worse you’d have to make vscode to make it as shit as intellij is. And even vscode is pretty shit.
Kotlin would be a great language if it wasn’t hampered by that IDE.

Are there any topics I should avoid or considerations I should take into account when training them?11·1 month agoI mean I was trying to be cute there, but I genuinely think that this it the way to proper respect and non-bigotry in the workplace. You have lots of oddball people in every workplace of more than 3 people, and you’re supposed to function with all of them. Trans is just one more. And of course it’s all subjective, so the people you might think are perfectly normal are completely bizarre to some other people and vice versa. And you have to navigate around that too.

vga@sopuli.xyzto Linux@lemmy.ml•I tried Debian, I tried Fedora for my Lenovo Legion 5 Pro RTX3060: Framerate issues, stuttering in browsers, stuttering in simple 3D programs11·2 months agoLike others suggested here, the problem is probably nouveau and you might want to try a gaming-oriented distro which usually configure these things correctly out-of-the-box. My favourite is Nobara and Fedora (which didn’t work for you but works for me because I have different hardware). People suggest Bazzite, but I cannot recommend it because it’s based on Fedora Atomic, and I don’t get along with Fedora Atomic.
As a general admittedly non-helpful suggestion, don’t get Nvidia hardware if you want to use Linux.

For some historical context, Nvidia has had premium Linux support since 2006. For the longest time it was the only option for any kind of hardware accelerated 3D graphics on Linux and it generally worked pretty well.
Thankfully, AMD made the open-source side of graphics on Linux work also recently. At least for two years, AMD GPUs have been entirely trouble-free on Linux. To my knowledge, Nouveau is not quite there yet.

Kinda, since Arch has nvidia’s own drivers in their extra repo, whereas in Fedora you’ll have to do some stuff to get them.
They’ve gone well beyond what other instances do and that usually suggests that someone’s getting paid to make it all happen.
I’m sure dessalines and nutomic are also being financed by CCP and FSB to develop a platform for spreading propaganda to the West.

Fedora has always used their own. Dpkg was released in 1994, RPM in 1997.
My comment was about Windows and MacOS kinda catching up in 2020s.
This is so absolutely adorable.
I live in country that has plateaued financially for the last 2 decades.
You’ll be fine. Really. In opposite to what you might have heard, free market capitalism in no way requires constant growth. It can adapt to plateaus or degrowth just fine.
