I’ve found that if you want engagement then most communities are fairly quiet. This is not /r so there are fewer around. If you want to engage then find a post that resonates with you and engage with it. Lemmings are conversational but you need to poke them to get something back.

My bingo card/wish list - Trump gets tied up in litigation/impeachment (first pres to be impeached 3 or 4 times…bring it!) until he is out of office (I suspect his Outlook is already set that way). As a long time plex pass user, is there anything there that would make me want to switch? Plex has just plain worked for me for years. mobile apps, everything is just great. Why should I look around?

My best friend at work is a dyed-in-the-wool conservative. He will never not be - and I rush to profess that he is not an asshole…he just thinks conservitave/republican is the side he needs to support probably because that’s what daddy did, dunno. We see eye-eye on most other things.

We do not agree on anything political except that everyone is way too heated up over everything. We are still friends, regardless.

My point in responding is that his gay daughter disconnected from him after Trump v.1 - would not take a call or interact in any way. This is painful for my friend and he has been confused by it but does not realize why his daughter won’t engage. I think she is offended that his political choice doesn’t allow for her right to exist and, frankly I agree with her.

I think my friend has lost his daughter forever because he is a stubborn man. I hope your dad can open his heart to accept you.

The DMN signed their own death warrant when they made obvious mistakes in their political endorsements in the previous presidential election cycle. They further obstructed their success with ridiculous subscription pricing changes making them inaccessible to most readers. The DMN is dead unless they clean house.

This is the most horrific thing I have seen in a long time and this the second time I have had to read about something like this. I work for a company that caused this to happen to another family in a different place using different fumigants but it brings me back to that time and I am weeping now.

I wept to my wife when I heard of my company’s malfeasance in their failure to ensure that nobody was harmed in that other place. I have since witnessed a top to bottom realignment of priorities in my workplace to focus on safety…too little, too late - they did crime then that to meet profit margins and they still hold that most dear despite lip service to “safety first”.

I’m so very sad that this happened again to another family and I hope that the perpetrators (most likely managers pushing production goals) pay a heavy price for their crime. (spoiler alert, at my company the bad guys were not properly punished and I am still salty about that).

Most openers have a dumb switch interface. A simple close-to-change circuit - I’ve never had one that wasn’t that way. If MyQ is so complicated (serial interface!?) then it needs to go anyway.

lol, just get a dumb opener and a shelly relay or use a meross unit. Super cheap and flawless local control that is cloud-connected if you want it.

I don’t have a problem with this. I was an “essential” employee in the before-times and I muddled through and never had an incident of sickness…I think my masking and sanitation saved me from hazard. I’m not downplaying the whole pandemic - I lost a few very good people because of it (I miss you, Russ).

The before-times are past…we need to work through the now times and that requires that we are together as people and a part of being present in the now-times is not hiding behind fear. We need to connect and see each others visage to gauge our connections.

I used to vape on mesh and cable wick. Some people think you need cotton in between but you do not if you know how to set it up right.

The coil can be wrapped directly on the mesh or cable as long as you build up a layer of non-conductive carbon between them. Back when they were popular most would use a torch on the mesh or cable to get it scorched. Then you wrap coil gently in complete contact (no loose/floppy coils) with the wick.

The fun part is working out the hot spots by pulsing and actually poking the coil where it tries to short on the wick…it really is an art to get it right.

Once it’s set up correctly you have a nifty juice conduit straight to the coil - you actually have to tip the atomizer to let the juice flow. It can be an excellent vape but kind of a PITB to get right.
