Yeah between the forced binding arbitration and their claims to wanting to start pre-roll ads, Roku is dead to me, I will never buy another device from them nor recommend them to anyone.
Maybe an electrode with a lot of age on it was nearly burned up and one more flip on managed to blast a little clean spot on it.
Maybe you had a short in your ballast that got hot enough to change material properties a little and not become a short anymore.
Maybe your ballast was loose and had an open line and it just managed to wiggle enough to work again.
Maybe your ballast is partially shorted and ineffective at certain voltages and your temperature in the room is now cold enough to work with a lower potential ballast.
Maybe you had a shorted cap that leaked and then burned itself the rest of the way out and is now open.
Go look at YouTube videos about thermostatic radiator valves. You can replace the head pretty easily.
The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) discovered a distant galaxy, JADES-GS-z13-1-LA, that emits a type of light called the Lyman-α emission line. This light is usually blocked by the intergalactic medium (the space between galaxies) and has never been seen from a galaxy this early in the universe’s history, just 326 million years after the Big Bang
This discovery is puzzling because it challenges our understanding of how light travels through space and how early galaxies formed. Scientists are now trying to figure out why this galaxy’s light isn’t blocked like others.
We’re essentially seeing hydrogen in a galaxy that is technically too young to have it.
Is it ready for primetime supporting everybody’s random hardware and everyone’s software without crashes, stutters and slow downs or be free of the requirement for weird configuration tweaks?
Probably not.
Can it work perfectly well with a lot of hardware and a lot of situations for a lot of games Yes.
Is it ready for primetime on a steam deck? Yes.
Last OS change I threw bookworm on a random laptop asked it to install steam, enabled proton for my games and everything just worked. But that doesn’t mean it will work for everyone and for every game.
Mixing ram is one of those no-nos that a lot of us do anyway. Ideally everything just slows down to the slowest piece of RAM and everything runs fine. And you wouldn’t think that the board would care if you have 16s in one side and eights and the other. But if you’re having problems with your stability that’s absolutely the first place to look. Even if all the RAM is perfectly matched, from a stability standpoint it’s better to run two sticks than four. I’d pull it back to 16 and see if it stops crashing. If it stops doing that so all your RAM and get two 16gb sticks.
Well not worth thousands of dollars Taylor Swift is a objectively different show than Elvis Presley was.
There was some decoration on stage Presley came out he was the bee’s knees everyone wanted to see him, but you were paying to see him and for his roadies toship, roll out and hook up his gear.
It probably cost $100,000 in labor just to haul Swift’s stage out and build it an arena. They probably need the arena for a week before the concert starts.
I’m not saying her stuff is worth $1,000 a ticket we should get economy at scale for that number of people. But it’s probably worth 300-500.
Unless you’re doing the insane level of football field sized stages with embedded screens and catapults, your average couple hour show at your average decent size venue really should realistic beatly be in the $100 to $200 range, You’ve got to pay the artist You’ve got to pay their crew and while the ticketing system does deserve to make some money on it, they shouldn’t be getting absolutely still filthy stinking lobbying rich off of it.
They either have to slip into that or “one of us.mp4”
I think I’m going to have to wait for PBS space to cover this one…
Before WOKE, they used weird as a term to describe LGBT*, emo and anything else they saw as against their values.
They just looked at other people not like them and said, they’re weird right, and they would all agree.
Well now we’re calling them weird and backing it up by calling out specific actions they know are wrong. Now they’re saying no, no we’re not weird at the same time internally going are we weird? They’re questioning their values just a little. It won’t stick long term or make changes. But they don’t have introspection very often.
And the practice. In most cases are doctors are now essentially hair stylists working for some larger entity. A larger entity with shareholders. If you want somebody that cares you probably need to go see a family practice with only one or two doctors. The problem is places like that run out of spaces to see people quickly.
It sucked when Crashplan’s home client went under. If you installed the client on two computers with internet access, it would let you set the remote computer as a target. Encryption was done at the source, it had dedupe, versioning. It ate a little ram but it was really nice.
Yep, I tried Tailscale at home… 3 weeks later I started using it at work, so insanely easy.
Test out that Nix, Mine refused to let me install from it when I just shoved their iso in Ventoy.
Someone got a hackintosh running from ventoy on specific hardware
I’ll take racism, sexism, propaganda and capitalism for 500 Alex.
They’ve got pretty firm control of the business sectors through tax cut agenda. They’ve got pretty firm control of the farmers for the same. Through fear and propaganda they’ve got pretty strong control of the poor and some of the educated middle class in the rural areas. A lot of the red states are doing everything they can to impede their education systems. If you keep people from becoming educated there’s less competition at the top and a lot more red voters.
All you’ve got to fight them are the poor and the middle class in the cities and suburbs and the occasional upper class that isn’t so self-serving that they’re willing to stand on everyone else.
With your fake collectors gerrymandering and rigging going on I can’t say that I’m that big of a worry wart over the details anymore.
I’m kind of sick of the shit being inequal.
And even then you should only let your doctors 16-year-old daughter drill the hole…

I’m running something surprisingly close to most of what you’re asking for sans the immich which I’m waiting on stability from them first. That warning at the time of their site that says it’s under constant development and not to use it as your primary picture store is a bit worrisome.
Unraid with 2 video cards
Plex gets accessed remotely via its own remote capabilities
Jellyfin gets accessed remotely via tailscale
SearXNG is access remotely via cloudflare
I have a secondary Plex server sitting on a raspberry pi with the backup pi hole
I am preparing to set up a peertube. Haven’t had a lot of luck with the container on unraid. I run a fair amount of proxmox at work so I’ll probably just use proxmox for it.
I run a separate dedicated system completely for my cameras. Not running frigate yet but I’ll get around to it eventually using blue iris at the moment.
My unraid gets as much uptime as updates allow. I love being able to just jbod my media discs together and still have some protection with parity.
I find the containerized version of Plex to be more stable than my VM version but that’s probably my own fault as I’m oversubscribing the vm.
You should consider the kind of things that happen in video games.
Mmhmmm
