If a deity exists, he probably says the same thing about humans. Both are annoying to a more advanced being for similar reasons.

we’re at a point in labor dynamics where they need employees more than we need employers.
What makes your say that?
krashmo@lemmy.worldto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Interviews as seen by HR and the candidate4·28 days agoSure, but most of the time you don’t have a lot of time to shop around for a job you like. You have to pay rent and “we didn’t vibe well” is not an acceptable reason to give your dependents when they ask why you didn’t take a job and are now being evicted.

They want to live in this “helping others is gay” kind of world. That’s cool, I’m young and in good health. I’ll last longer than you will without health insurance. If we’re cutting off assistance to everyone we might as well put you at the top of the list. After all, what do you old retired people contribute to our glorious economy? That’s how we’re judging people’s value now isn’t it? Perhaps you should have thought about the conclusion of that line of thinking a bit more. Oh well, c’est la vie. I hope the consequences of your actions kill enough of you that we can move past this insanity.

Nevermind that his strongest statements on this issue came in the last week of his term when he obviously had no intention of addressing it. Don’t worry about the fact that his hubris robbed us of the opportunity to have an open primary. Forget that his justice department decided to run out the clock on Trump’s legal cases instead of holding him accountable in any way. Just ignore the fact that he spared his friends and family from having to face the consequences of a Trump presidency by pardoning all of them. He was working so hard for us the whole time.

They do have minute environmental benefits but their real use is to trick me into believing things will be OK. Otherwise I would lose my mind over how ridiculously suicidal our collective behavior is. That is a very valuable service they provide to me personally. I enjoy what little of my sanity remains to me.

krashmo@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Should we create a new political party in the US, specifically for shitting on the rich?4·7 months agoIt’s not going to amount to anything if he’s the only one taking action. If we’ve all just been waiting for things to get started then where is everyone now? I’ve seen tons of “I’ve got my pitchfork ready for when things get started” posts over the last few years but now that it’s supposedly here I only see the one pitchfork.
Obviously I’m not doing anything either but the question I’m getting at is, is it fair to say the public has been galvanized if it’s just one guy doing one thing while a bunch of people watch?
The comfortable will never rebel. No one is going to give you those things and we can’t build them without dismantling the current system. You’re going to have to get supremely uncomfortable in order to give others the possibility of having those things at some indeterminate time in the future or face a dystopian future so bleak that it will make The Hunger Games seem like a fun vacation. Either way, comfort is rapidly fading from the picture.
