if you’re so terrified of everyone and everything that, even fully-armed and with full body armor, countless backup, and military-grade armored vehicles, you still can’t feel unsafe to the point that you need to criminalize citizens even approaching you, then you just may not be psychologically fit to be a cop. or outside of a mental hospital.

i’m not sure that i agree with this at all. Microsoft, itself, has been having issues lately, and i don’t think this is a Bing vs Google search thing. But i believe those issues are temporary.
Overall, the direction that Google is taking with its search engine is probably a bigger threat to Google, considering, i suspect, people really aren’t going to like it.
yeah, almost nothing on the blade would matter compare to the filth already inside your intestines. just a speck of that leaking into your body cavity will cause sepsis, and would be fatal without elephantine doses of antibiotics. stabbed with a sword? you’ll be in the hospital for weeks, at least. oh, and that’s not even including the massive tissue damage and blood loss.
plus, you’ll be lucky to be leaving with your entire intestine intact (you’ll likely be losing at least a few feet of it) and possibly pooping into a colostomy bag for the rest of your life.

Persuading the BBC not to describe sperm whale clicks as “language” in their Blue Planet II series was the highlight of my science communication career. Why?
A lot of complex communication is going on in cetaceans, much of which we still don’t understand. However, I am convinced that we should drop the stifling and anthropocentric focus on language. It crowds out other perspectives on what is going on – for example, the relationship between rhythm-based communication and music might be a better way to understand the bonding function of coda synchrony in sperm whales.
We should be wary of ranking species on a single dimension relative to humans, as if all evolution is a path to something like us (much like early anthropologists ranked societies by their progress toward western “perfection”). Instead, let’s take ourselves off the top of the ladder and see other animals as distinct branches of an evolutionary tree.
I find great logic in the argument of understanding animal communications in relation to the animals themselves rather than their relation to us.
See, that’s where I was confused. Since it has rotational symmetry, I didn’t notice, since I just took an image and rotated it— but it didn’t consider how a flag hangs from a flagpole, with one edge having eyeholes for a rope or string. This means it would be inverted, not rotated, and the stripes would be different.
