To get a pay bump you’re probably going to want to be looking at Frontend Engineer roles in a tech/SAAS company. Skim through some job descriptions for those to see what is in demand. (React is probably involved.)

Domestic - nope. It’s possible they can look it up - but for all they know - you just checked your bags.
International/customs - don’t say you have a large amount of money on you or any meat/fruit in your socks and you’ll probably be fine.

But if power is out I could see some traffic lights eventually failing to work, at which point I might guess the driver/organization sees it as a liability to continue the routes. So, I don’t know if the payment system would be the limitation.
