Is there a community for those of us with late 90s early 2000 HP laserjets? Somewhere we can discuss maintenance, feeding, and overall care?
Just here for the facts

Who down-voted you? You answered my idle thought with the sauce!! Thank you!!
What happens if someone gets married a lot and keeps needing a new card with new name?
Now I’m wondering what the maximum number of times someone has been married. Elizabeth Taylor was married 8 times (twice to Burton, so she could have reused that one if she kept it) But if she took her husband’s last name legally (while keeping her stage name) each time, she would have been pushing the limit, and over it if she went back to her maiden name, lost any cards, or didn’t keep old ones… Or if her lawyers were like, don’t change your name legally again after husband 5?
In slight fairness, your employer has to set up payroll so that part of your paycheck automatically goes to Social Security. So they kind of need it, since there’s not another way to track that you get proper credit for paying in to Social Security. Unless you are self employed and you send the money directly in yourself.
In college, early 90s, our student IDs had our photo and SSN on it
I’ve operated ever since under rhe assumption anyone and everyone has access to it.
Then with all the data breaches over the last 10/15 years? Freeze credit reports with the 3 reporting agencies for free. Check for extra accounts with the free annual credit report pulls.
For all practical purposes, our SSNs are easily obtained by someone who wants it.
I’m not sure what the solution is, but a unique identifier has to be housed somewhere where in can be accessed in a format humans can read, which means it can be accessed and dumped so it’s no longer private or secret.
I’m not a fan of biometrics, and I tolerate 2FA. I really think it’s more important we change how we think about and use personal, unique, identifiers (like SSNs)
You aren’t broken. It sounds like a broken man raised you.
I love this. It is so true too. My father and my husband were both raised by broken men and they both rose above it. My Dad still struggles with it, but my husband has been able to forgive and move on
I didn’t go through the whole thing, but spot clicking, found he was still updating it in 2019. 2 sections of links on conspiracy theories. Overall web design circa 1996.
That website alone could be a big red flag for a lot of employers. Although it could have been worse. I didn’t find some stuff I expected to find, but I also stopped looking after about half an hour.
If harvested while young, soybeans can be eaten in their original state as edamane. (You can just steam the beans and eat) They have to be processed for human consumption when left to fully mature.
Edamame is extremely tasty sprinkled with a little salt, or drizzled with a little sesame oil and chili powders.
I have a 70+ year old friend that paper files. She doesn’t trust the free file places available here (USA). I don’t blame her.
Ysk - You can order the forms for free on the IRS (& state) websites.
I print things for her on my 1999 laser jet if she needs something printed.
Many years I paper filed just to inconvenience them slightly for not offering free file.
