If it’s anything like Egypt, old papers and books can usually be sold to scrap sellers for pocket change and they’re sometimes resold to falafel restaurants to wrap the falafels in.

Also the prices are definitely at least slightly inflated since their shop is a merch shop first, everything else second. You buy stuff from it to support their work and get a premium product with it.
