It’s the best scripting language I know of, but man I hate dynamically types languages. I am so used to rust and C/C++ that reading any large script or program will drive me insane

Sorry, but you weren’t the type I thought you were all the time
I’ve run into the same problem with an API server I wrote in rust. I noticed this bug 5 minutes before a demo and panicked, but fixed it with a 1 second sleep. Eventually, I implemented a more permanent fix by changing the simplistic io calls to ones better designed for streams
Western media wasn’t held responsible for its horrible (lack of) reporting on the Holocaust, so I’m not hopeful it will be held responsible for the reporting on the current genocide.
I’ve been following antifascist reporting for a while now, and it always bothers me when people will just stop supporting antifascists as soon as a nazi gets punched. It almost feels like they think the worst part of fascism is violence, not the mixture of everything else while using violence to enforce it. I’m personally all for punching nazis, preferably in self defense, though it’s not the best tactic (humiliation works better with fascists, bring back vegan milkshakes).
Some people are just so scared of violence and love to put themselves on a pedestal for being better than that, while almost always being fully isolated from the fascists while having no skin in the game.
I also fucking despise the online left. I’m an anarchist, and have been a socialist for pretty much my whole political life. But the online left will chew you up and spit you out for a single mistake. If you end up in some areas it’s pure dogma, and you will get angry replies for hours on end for not being the same politically.
I swear, the online left would rather do nothing and remain virtuous rather than go outside, fuck up, and learn from their mistakes while actually bringing their politics into the real world.
If the headline is constantly changing (as the OP pointed out), I don’t think you can just say “the current headline bears no resemblance to the sanitized version OP is claiming” and imply that OP is lying, especially with one of the headlines shown by OP being captured by archive.is
If anything, that’s being dishonest on your part.
Like, this is the same as me pointing in the sky and saying “Wow, what a beautiful harvest moon!” And then you saying “uh, this waning crescent shows no resemblance to that harvest moon you were pointing out earlier, what you said isn’t true” days later.

Marriage is a social construct not built upon love or companionship. It is just a social relation that is related to the two, with religious and legal backing to fortify it.
If you see marriage as a means to love and companionship, you are not gonna have a loving relationship. Love and companionship are completely viable (and I’d argue stronger) outside the strange little box that society tries to place it in
Fuck marriage.
I don’t think there is anything that a person of any gender can’t provide in a relationship. I do see that society shuns certain people from performing certain roles, but anyone can do any one of them.
If he is only ranting politics, he might not have anyone to talk politics with. Maybe he is the lone conservative, lapping up every scrap of talking points from Fox (or maybe Newsmax), but can’t spew them out around family who sees him as being crazy for watching Fox. If you aren’t pushing back, he probably sees you as safe, and if he is finding it hard for him to deal with political stressors, that’s probably why he is ranting and getting so emotional.
This is why I did a “walkthrough test” when I had to write documentation on this sort of thing. I’m a terrible technical writer, so this shit is necessary for me.
I grabbed my friend who knows enough about computers to attempt this, but not enough about infrastructure to automatically know what I meant when I was too vague.
Took two revisions, but the final document was way easier to follow at the end
I met a southerner who speaks in a more northern accent, but sometimes slips into their original southern accent on certain words or when yelling, which happens in the busy kitchen I was working with them in.
It’s pretty funny to have someone behind you shouting about their hot trays of potatoes or about them carrying knives or whatever.
I run two APs, and a Unifi server running on a thin client linux server.
I have the U7, and the U6 extender that goes in a wall outlet
I have a few of their small poe powered ethernet switches, they’re great since I have a poe switch as a backbone I can put it near a group of devices in a room, like consoles, raspberry PIs, etc, and just not have to worry about much setup or powering yet another tiny device.
Highly recommend unifi devices
100%
Let’s not forget that the Leviathan was the justification for the divine right of kings over democratic systems.
To explain away the man-made horrors of the world as being “human nature” is taking the easy route by avoiding questioning what causes the worst things to happen in the world and coming to a shitty catch-all conclusion.
It’s also super defeatist and can stop discussions on how to fix the crimes of those before us.
I’m genuinely hyped for this DLC
I do that to my dead drives, but I’ve only had one fail that wasn’t an SSD. Moreso because the washers that separate the platters have a very satisfying ring to them that makes me keep them as a fidget toy.
I use the magnets to hold screws, it works great for that.
Unfortunately, SSDs have less interesting parts, so I just take them apart to destroy the chips after failure
Lmfao, “everyone I don’t agree with is a chatbot pushing propaganda points.” Sorry for not being eloquent. 🤦
Sometimes, I wish I was using chat gpt, it would save me some time and effort responding to people, but usually I’m just on here because of boredom so it doesn’t matter in the end.
You are right about it being confirmation bias, but I am aware of it. I’ve intentionally blocked out family members and former friends over antisemitism, and I’ve realized that once I gained more control over my life, such as by graduating from school and college, and having the ability to not associate with family. I do not currently live in the deep south, but I have a lot of family living in the thick of the bible belt. I no longer talk to them because of their support of cryptofascism. The only people I discuss politics with are close friends, who range from liberal to radical left, people at protests, immediate family as general talk, and random people online in political communities that skew left, or have no particular bias but have strict “no fascism” rules. Other than occasionally keeping tabs on fascists on twitter, I don’t have very much exposure to fascists.
However, as I live in an area where the antisemites have to be very mask-on, and they are counterintuitively pro-zionists. This is because the popular breed of fascism near me is christofascism and christian nationalism. These people want the state of isreal solely because it fulfills a prophecy in the book of revelation. Many of them also want jewish people to be expelled or killed, being literal fascists or hyper-christian. They are both antisemitic and zionists.
But the fact that I have comformation bias in the anecdotes at the beginning and end of what I said is not important.
What I was hoping to point out is a lot of the supposed antisemitism I see is not in fact antisemitic, it’s just antizionist. For instance, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will be Free” is often called antisemitic (it is even called hate speech by the ADL), but it is not, it is anti-zionist. Attempts to conflate this phrase used by activists with antisemitism only seeks to attempt to silence them, showing that protests against zionism is walking on egg shells. Calling for an end of apartheid structures that limit the freedom of movement of palestinians to small sections of the state is not calling expelling jewish people, or somehow referring to space lasers, or whatever.
To go to specific examples, there is the van that drove around Harvard with activist’s faces on it labeling them as antisemites. From what I’ve heard through a friend who currently attends Harvard, those are simply anti-zionist activists. Other supposed antisemitic acts during anti-zionist protests at harvard were intentionally spun that way. From what I heard, at a die-in protest, a jewish student walked over the protestors, and one of them supposedly complained to an organizer that they had been stepped on by that student. In response, the organizers forced that student to leave. That friend told me that some local news reports called the protest antisemitic because a jewish student was forced to leave it, but from what he told me it was for a valid reason, being that the organizers wanted to keep their protesters safe from being stepped on.
The anti-zionists I know are not antisemitic, and I have not seen them be antisemitic.
Sometimes I see people say a statement is antisemetic, such as “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will be Free,” or something else with a similar meaning. That is not an antisemetic statement. It is against the state, not against the people, nor is it against the religion or ethnicity, and the two are not equal. Any attempt to equate the two is an attempt to silence people who are against the actions of the state, which is usually what I end up seeing.
Sure, you can say something that is both, but I almost never see people do this.
Exactly.
I use it a lot on my systems for very simple scripts because I am significantly more experienced in python compared to bash.
I remember getting given a 10k line python script which “was the documentation” for an API i had to interact with using powershell. I hated life so much because of that stupid project.
