?
but more seriously you might be able to debug using the browser toolbox (ctrl
+alt
+shift
+i
); or you might try asking on !FirefoxCSS@fedia.io (or !Firefox@fedia.io)
just out of interest db0, did this thread in any way change your opinion on webp?[1] i’m just constructing a pet theory on internet discussions
(sorry to necro an old thread, and i’m sure you have other things on your plate right now; i’m just interested)
(also completely off-topic; i’m surprised your blog still has the wordpress favicon. i would have thought you of all people would have changed that)
or tumblr, for that matter ↩︎
i care about fake internet points because i want to share things people like. if they don’t like it, i’ll enjoy it myself, but i won’t bother sharing it
no worries, here’s the actual documentation. apparently there’s a third syntax that i never use as well
lemmy supports two footnote formats
the basic type like so:
comment body here[^1]
[^1]: and the footnote at the very bottom of the comment
or the easy to write type
comment body here^[and the inline footnote]
(note the different locations for the caret)
keep in mind that they don’t work on most apps, and some frontends
i know. like i said, i don’t believe it
i was just trying to be funny : (
alright, i was being facetious. a cursory search [says(https://healthmanagement.org/c/icu/news/organ-donors-who-need-kidneys-go-to-top-of-transplant-list) this, but it’s the states only, and i have no idea if it’s true or not. i imagine not, but i don’t know
that’s also a great idea, i’ll see if i can find a way to cram that into µblock. thank you for the idea
edit: for anyone who wants to do a similar thing, here is the syntax for a µblock filter:
/(lemm.ee|mlmym.org)/##body a[href="/lemm.ee/u/Crul"]::after:style(content:"awesome";color:tomato !important;border:1px solid currentColor;border-radius:var(--bs-border-radius, 0.375rem);padding-inline:0.5ch;margin-left:0.5ch;)
(also i made it look a little prettier / more native)
i’ll have a look at the mlmym github, see if there’s anything simple i can do; i’ve never used docker, but perhaps i can figure it out
(also by the way your little ^_^ doesn’t work on the default ui, it makes a superscript underscore)
holy hell that is an absolute monolith of a bookmarklet though
bless you crul, you are my absolute favourite lemming. shame that user tags aren’t a feature yet so i notice when i run into you. i also see you have good taste in subreddits, too
these are great - particularly the markdown one - that never would have crossed my mind, but i’m going to try to remember to use it from now on
i wish i could move to mlmym, but it’s just not as featureful as either lemmy-ui or reddit+res
oh crul it’s you!
i don’t suppose you could share some of those? i just had a quick look, but the lemmy search syntax is different to reddit - the communities’ ids are in the url, so the reddit method doesn’t work unless i memorise the id №… (i wish the lemmy devs weren’t so obsessed with numbers)
this is incredibly cool
i don’t even know how i’m going to put this to use, but i know i’ll find something to use it for. thank you
i mean, i don’t personally agree with it, but i can empathise that that demographic is overrepresented on the internet, so if their goal is to create an instance (like, say, hexbear before they federated) where they’re curating a specific experience, it’s understandable
i’d be interested to know what instance it is though
i can understand where they’re coming from
if your instance was called lemmy.freds.com, and your goal was to create an instance purely for people called fred to use; it would be understandable to remove people who claimed to be called fred, and then it turns out they actually aren’t
now i don’t know what instance this is, but say it’s lemmy.dbzer0.com - if a user is going around decrying piracy, or reporting copyright infringement on lemmy to authorities; i think it would be reasonable to remove them
oh fair enough, i forgot that some people hide the bookmarks bar because i find it really useful
the

is the prefix to make an autolink on lemmythink

on mastodon (sort of)
