Bernie was buy-and-large the most popular candidate in 2016. Mainstream media all but refused to put him on air(He was bad for business, i.e. for millionaires/billionaire executives). The DNC completely fucked us when they still elected to put Hillary on the ballot; even with the GOP colluding with the FBI to investigate her, whether or not that was legitimate is irrelevant. The DNC fucked us. And yet… Like others have said, our democracy is currently so fragile that we have no real other choice other than to vote D straight down the ballot.

The only other possible option would be for a major of the country to write-in the same person in the primary election and then for that person to register as an official candidate and then run in the general election and win. The vast majority of states require a candidate to be registered for them to be a write-in. And good fucking luck convincing a majority of this country to agree on one person. Personally, if that were to happen I would proudly write-in Jon Stewart.

Biden hasn’t been that bad. Not bad enough to risk never getting to vote again.

Statements like “I never learned anything useful in school” completely misses the point of primary education. There is, objectively, quite a few subjects that are “unnecessary” to learn but even if kids don’t remember the factoids and formulas they learn how to learn. So when they move on to higher education they know how to take notes, how to study, and that it’s okay not to understand everything immediately.

I was in Army basic training during the last government shutdown. What that meant for us was no busses to take us to ranges for training. No hot meals in the defac (cafeteria). Extremely limited ammunition for training. So we matched miles upon miles all over the base to get where we needed to go, pretended we had the ammo for the exercise and then we would march home and eat an MRE (meal ready to eat). 2 or 3 MREs a day for about 2 weeks straight. Shit sucked.

We had 1 chance to eradicate COVID and that was when countries first started locking down. We failed… Miserably. So now COVID is endemic, meaning it is NEVER GOING TO GO AWAY. We will be going in for COVID and Flu shots every year for the foreseeable future. If we are lucky, they’ll eventually be able to roll the flu and COVID shots into one inoculation.

The insurance companies are the employer and the doctors are the employees. They are the ONLY ones who COULD make significant demands to change our healthcare system. But like you said, they are too incentivized not to make waves.

So then what can we do? A national protest against health insurance? Good luck convincing people to drop their health insurance plans.

Congress is the only way out of this mess
