  • Correct. This is very situational also. I’m salary, my boss is great, if I have to do work on the weekend, like a site visit, he usually venmos me $2-300 on the spot. If he asks me to do something outside normal hours, or maybe even outside our work scope, 99% of the time it’s a yes. We’re a pretty solid group, we scratch each other’s backs for the sake of the clients in most cases. It all evens out in the end.

  • I find jobs with IT it really matters what you’ve done on your own or previous jobs. I don’t have a degree, but I’ve setup piholes, truenas, Microsoft servers, dabble in Linux, have ubiquiti firewalls and waps, had Cisco equipment, have done a little of everything, firewalls, nas storage, etc. I have certs, and if you ask me how to do something I won’t hesitate to show you what I’d do or tell you I’d have to look it up. It’s not programming, but knowing larger pictures and scenarios really helps and you know “what” needs to be done, it just may be different on meraki vs ubiquiti vs Netgear equipment.

  • Nope. Ive been burned on several games (back 4 blood anyone?) And tired of losing. Maybe the game isn’t for me, maybe it won’t run on my system. I have several games I bought after trying them from torrents: rimworld, farcey series, fallout 4 (love/own 3 and NV, needed to test 4). Several games that I really like I’ve bought a second copy for a shared account so my kid can play them also.

Nothing wrong with trying before you buy in my opinion. My library is full of games I r never installed. :(
