You’re right, we should be cutting out the bloated middleman entirely.
This is a good step in the right direction, but I’d like to see it applied to commercial plans as well. Prior authorization is everything they’re saying it is and worse.
Such a good video. I’ll listen to anything delivered in this old (transatlantic?) accent too.
I’m not a nurse, but I think the way you’re charting is the correct way to protect your license. If they’re A&Ox4 then there’s probably not a legal/regulatory reason to sit and watch them, but it’s also probably not out of bounds for hospital policy to require staff to observe and confirm any intervention (including meds) provided while under their care.
Now, whether they’re going to take into account how much cumulative time/work that adds to the nurses and then staff accordingly is another story… (Hint: they won’t)
Burning down some thatched-roof cottages in his honor today.
Ooh, I’ll check this in a little bit this morning!
Thanks for the ping! This could be interesting…
And the Uvalde shooter crashed his truck on the way.
It’s interesting how often in stories like this where someone is doing something extremely violent or antisocial (the clinical definition of the term, not “asocial”), it begins with a car crash.
It paints a picture of someone who’s being manic, impulsive, and has shut their mind off to long term consequences.
They’re really good at finding ways to package great jokes that otherwise might catch some flak. In a small way, you can still feel some of Norm MacDonald’s influence there.
It’s the funniest thing they do every year.
Some people are saying that the tech has changed, but maybe 4-ish(?) years ago when I got it, they forbade clumping litter because it was hard for the machine to filter.
61 is so young and unexpected. What incredibly sad news.
At first glance of the headline, I saw the word “homicide” and thought the worst. Articles are saying “a brief illness” was the cause.
This is incredible timing. I just downloaded F-Droid for the first time this evening and thought “Wow, there’s so much here, I don’t even know where to start. I bet I could ask Lemmy for app recs.”
Opened Lemmy, saw this post.
I’ll go against the grain here and say that no, I don’t think they’re worth it. The litter that automatic litter boxes have to use doesn’t clump and isn’t as effective. Tried it for about a year and then went back to low-tech.
Ooh, I love this. Way to go @stamets@startrek.website!
Twitter reminds me of the worst parts of the old “wild west” internet now. There’s still some good content, but it’s hidden among scams, skeezy porn ads, and some of the worst opinions you’ve ever read.
I feel pretty immune to that kind of stuff, but it’s a huge culture shock after browsing moderated social media.
