Last year after some family tragedy and living comoletely alone for the first time, I stopped watching the news (really TV entirely) and I gotta say I am generally happier. I won’t weigh in on “right” or “wrong” in a moral sense because at the end of the day that is pretty subjective. But I will say that it might be right for you, and that it definitely was for me. The world’s gonna do what it does and it will keep going whether or not I watch, so I may as well restrict my attention to the things I care about and can personally control. I’ve recently started occasionally updating myself but only in brief.

I don’t know this for sure, but I think it’s something along the lines of certain record companies can pay to have their artists played more often than others so when you start a playlist on shuffle it’s biased toward those higher “tier” songs. I think caches also plays into it to a degree, but it’s definitely not just an issue with a lack of randomness. I think they do the same thing with the “AI DJ” which will play completely irrelevant songs to your tastes in a small group and then go back to normal at intervals. “Hey this is your DJ X, you just heard Kat Stevens so now I’m gonna play Kendrick Lamar (which you’ve never once played willingly) and I’ll be following that with a few other things that are currently being promoted”

Spotify’s shuffle technique: play the same 5 or 6 songs in a row on a given playlist every time you play it on shuffle despite the literal hundreds of ither songs to pick from

There are vending machines but they generally don’t serve hot food or nearly the same amount of variety as Japanese machines do. Usually only soft drinks and shelf-stable snacks like candy bars, chips, cookies or crackers.

Probably could be called agnostic or maybe deist. I’m not super familiar with either but that might be what you’re looking for
