I wouldn’t scramble them first. That introduces air bubbles which will act as an oxidizer, probably shortening the shelf life. I think cracking them into ice cube trays might be a viable option though it would probably be a messy job. It’s easy enough to test.
When I read of this method in the past I imagined a gas chamber filled with nitrogen, not a shitty face mask and a nitrogen canister. I thought the prisoner wouldn’t know when they switched on the nitrogen and that they would fall asleep. A mask seems so cheap and what would they do if he vomited? It probably leaked which is why it took over 30 minutes to execute him.
