So sitting on my ass eating candy isn’t the way to lose weight?
First he scrubs it with a brillo pad to make it shiny.
The difference, I think, is that the Clinton hack was published by WikiLeaks. Once it’s out, you can report on it. It’s different being the organization that puts it out.
What the hackers should have done is put it out on a website.
not the name of the software/company, but rather some sort of advanced DDOS-like attack
As we’ve discovered, both can be true.
On Friday, as we were running around the hospital where we work trying to get every computer working again, we were following the work-around to rename the Crowdstrike folder under C:\Windows\system32\drivers to “bad-CrowdStrike”.
When my coworker was typing the rename command, instead of typing “cro TAB”, he started typing “clo TAB”. He’d ask me why it wasn’t finding it, and I’d point out the typo.
I started saying, it’s not “CloudStrike”, it’s “CrowdStrike”.
By the end of the day, we were both a little loopy. I started typing “CloudStrike”, and cursing him out for screwing with my head. By the end of the day I wasn’t sure what it was either.
CloudStrike
CrownStrike
ClownStrike
It occurred to us that CrowdStrike is an absolutely terrible name. It sounds like a terrorist attack. Of course, it felt like one on Friday.
Got an example?
It’s not that complex.
A mutation happens. It can result in either a disadvantage that prevents the plant from surviving to reproduce or an advantage that helps the plant survive to reproduce.
There’s no “knowing” involved. There is no intent on the part of the plant. It’s just random. You’re seeing the descendants of the plants that got an advantageous mutation.
What you’re not seeing in your yard are the billions of different plants that never survived because their mutation was a disadvantage.
it has pedals like a bicycle
Are you taking about the Aptera from the video you linked?
If so, the Aptera doesn’t have pedals like a bicycle. It’s a fully electric vehicle (or it will be if it reaches production).
Hey, how about a little warning!
What are you trying to do, BLIND US ALL?!?!?
Nice picture.
Nah, the fix is gonna have to be a workaround
Ah, yes. The “do nothing but cross your fingers and pray it doesn’t bite you in the ass” workaround.
Those of you women living in U.S. red states will be familiar with the feeling.
Fuck, that’s so low.
That can be said about many people who get out of prison. Health conditions that get diagnosed and treated in the outside tend to get ignored inside.
Someone sell this asshole a polar bear liver.
I have an electric lighter that we use for lighting candles. It charges via USB and generates a short spark between two contacts to light the candle.
I am also aware of a manager at my job who got fired for playing those games. Fired and security-escorted out.
Knowing the department director and how she felt about the employees, she was probably enraged when she found out what the manager under her was doing.
Here it’s very difficult to fire an employee after the probationary period, but managers are relatively easy to fire. There’s a three strikes rule for managers. Whenever a PIA manager starts being extra nice to everyone, you know they just got reported to HR for a second time.
Screwing with time cards in the U.S. is extra double bad because of federal law.
If the employee can prove the manager has done it, they’ve proven that their employer is both guilty of wage theft, and also that they’ve destroyed the records showing how much time you actually worked. So usually the employees get to say how much they are owed, and the employer has no way to argue against it.
If I recall correctly, if it was an honest mistake, the employer has to pay back two times what was owed. If it was intentional, then they have to pay back three times what was owed.
There aren’t many worker protections in the U.S., but that particular set of laws is ok. Of course, there could be additional protections in state or local laws.
Edit: clarification and typo.
Your point holds true, as long as you’re a sociopath.
Yeah, that’s what I meant. Ask the women in your life for advice.
