Fair enough. I had never seen the word before, but saw it used in comments in the same way that people usually use whine so I assumed it was a misspelling. My bad. Thank you for teaching me something new.
This seems like a logical step, both as a political counter move to the US limiting Huawei and TikTok, and as an actual security measure. If the Chinese state can get intel from Huawei devices, surely the US can get intel from iphones. I’m surprised they didn’t include Microsoft.

Im not the person you replied to but I’m from Denmark and WhatsApp isn’t very common here (at least not with people I know). most mobile subscriptions here include free texting and otherwise many people just use FB Messenger.

I guess it’s a subtle difference. Perhaps it’s just something that I think, and I’m not a native English speaker. It just sounds weird to me. being anti-Hitler would also be weird. He’s already gone. Being pro-nazi or anti-nazi would make more sense(in my head)
