So all Biden has to do is announce that Israel is going to start paying for those bombs, and it’s all good? Or at least, as good as Austria?

Does the payment have to be in dollars? What if the US were somehow advancing its own national interests in the region by providing weapons?

After all the US has all the dollars it needs. But maybe other countries could pay in blood? Maybe America has enemies it wants someone else to fight?

What if I told you that US foreign policy is fundamentally selfish, and in fact the US has never acted altruistically?

Bombs and guns are both capable of killing. I don’t see why the US should be responsible for Palestinians killed with US made bombs if Austria is not responsible for Americans killed with Austrian made guns.

Do you think moral responsibility depends on the size of the explosion? That’s hard to take seriously. So if the US only provided guns to Israel, that would be OK?

Yes, they provide guns to American police officers.

OK. I would say American police systematically kill American Black people. The police are armed by Glock and H&K.

So if America is responsible for the death of Palestinians, then Germany and Austria are responsible for the death of American Black people.

There are about 40K Gazan casualties but over 600K IDF soldiers including reserves. So the vast majority of soldiers have not killed anyone.

Yes, like I said the US is arming people who are responsible for killing as well as people who are not responsible. Which is also what Sweden is doing.

Most soldiers in the IDF have not killed anyone. The US is not seeking out those who have in order to arm them.

It is providing weapons to a group, knowing that some of the people in that group might use the weapons to kill. Which is also what Sweden is doing.

In the same sense that Sweden gave weapons to those responsible for Columbine.

I’m suggesting that the one responsible for a killing is the one who pulled the trigger. Or in the case of the military, the one who gave the order.

The IDF is not an individual. The US provides arms to Israeli soldiers just as Sweden provides arms to American civilians. The US is not identifying individual soldiers who have killed Palestinians.

Sweden is still selling weapons to Americans. Americans are still using them to shoot each other.

You should blame the people using those weapons.

A Swedish made TEC-9 was used to kill Columbine students. That doesn’t make Sweden responsible for the Columbine massacre.

If you want someone to call for a ceasefire, then it’s a good thing when they do it. Even when you don’t like the person who calls for it.
