Recent trends do, in fact, show that American consumers have been switching to cheaper brands and reducing consumption of some items, but boycotting is unrealistic. People need to eat and a handful of massive corporations own most brands.

On top of this, rice is not a staple food for most Americans, so many don’t know how to cook it or what to do with it, aside from with packaged goods like Rice-A-Roni.

It could be my favorite restaurant and I would stop going and start advocating against them to friends and family if they did this.

That sounds reasonable until you consider that kids starting out at their adult life very often only have friends and family who could act as a reference.

I once had a former friend (as in, we had a falling out due to him being a constant asshole) apply to the company I was working at and list me as a reference (we had also worked together for a couple of years at one point).
