Conservatism emphasizes self-reliance, which is a principle I stand firmly behind. Self-reliance is not a request—it is a demand, a necessity, the foundation of true power! A people who cannot sustain themselves are a people in chains, and I say—break those chains! Build, create, rise!

  • Yep, Lemmy is awesome because no single individual or group can shape the narrative of the entire fediverse exactly the way they want. Let’s say there’s a guy who thinks it’s his mission to purge conservative voices from Lemmy because he’s mad about how they voted in the most recent election—well, he can’t really stop it. No matter how creative he gets with trolling, conservatives will keep joining and speaking up. And the irony? That same attitude—the belief that silencing opposition wins the battle—is exactly why Democrats lost the election. Fucking beautiful. I love watching the meltdowns on Lemmy. :)

  • I have first hand knowledge. I was fed employee for 5 years. State employee for 15 years. Some people legit would be in the office for a meeting, then go home. This was pre-covid, so WFH wasn’t a thing. And they def weren’t working.

Where I was at, it was pretty much known that all of the people who had been there over 10 years just skated through after that.

It all allowed me to retire early, so I can’t complain too much. But the fuck-offs I encountered there definitely have inspired my voting choices. Also, the fucking staff meetings were ridiculous. The literally had a meeting over everything rather than just email it.

I’m happy to see them purged.
