It’s definitely not as comedic as the trailers have shown, it’s a fairly serious series and deals with a lot of depressing stuff, overall I loved the first season, but knowing the fate of one of the major factions that I identified most with kinda bummed me out.

Which is a fair point, but also at the local level is where it’s more challenging, because not only are you getting involved with things that more directly affect you, but also you can make yourself a target to those that want to push change in the other direction, so of course not everyone is up to that task and that’s why the overly aggressive conservatives constantly eat our lunches on the local level, and why they tend to scare off folks trying to change things at the local level.
This is happening all across the country, it’s why many of the more moderate Republicans have resigned or left their party, their districts, and it’s a barrier for Left leaning folks. I believe in Margorie Taylor Greene’s district one of the contenders against her was harassed and threatened to the point of dropping out of the race.
The Left needs brave people that are ready to lay their lives on the line for what we believe, the stakes are as high as they’ve ever been, and so is the danger, and it’s not like we can count on the authorities to do their jobs to protect us, because they’ve clearly shown that they are either incapable or unwilling, especially the fact that the thin blue line flag now flies in every law enforcement building, and if anything that flag is synonymous with fascism, MAGA, and police protectionism from consequences.
Joe Biden is not wrong when he says that this election is “a battle for the soul of the nation” because quite obviously it is, and if Trump is elected there will he no progress made politically against this type of stuff anytime soon.
Tevor Noah was really good, but he’s not on Stewart’s level, and unfortunately it seemed like all of the pressure and attacks on Noah really started eating at him, I hope Noah finds his groove again and continues to do good, but I’m glad Jon is back, we needed his gravitas for what we’re facing politically this year.
Apple cancelled his other show because he talked shit about some things they didn’t like, effectively censoring him.
No Apple cancelled his show after he wouldn’t back down about an episode he had planned about China, Apple backed down because they are China’s bitch.
His Apple TV show was great too, except for Apple being scared to let anybody criticize China.
Is Hollywood out of original ideas?
Gary Clarke Jr. Has some good protest songs, especially for a blues musician, including a remake of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young’s Ohio.
Municipal Waste is great for some hardcore, there’s actually a bunch of hardcore bands that have some excellent protest songs.
Then you have Ice-T’s Body Count.
Lamb of God’s albums post-Randy’s time in a Czech prison have been full of social commentary, far more than the earlier albums.
I’ve seen people highlight Killer Mike’s Grammy wins, but his other group Run the Jewels is pretty much the biggest name in protest rap these days.
Then you have Kendrick Lamar, possibly the best rapper of his generation, absolutely one of the greatest story tellers of rap, period.
Overall there’s a lot of pop, metal, rock, rap and other genres who have some prominent names and many lesser known names who are putting out good angry music.
Then you have Ice Cube putting out Arrest the President then proceeding to talk about voting for that same president.🤦♂️

There’s just too many bad administrators and teachers out there, just like in the private sector there’s too much bad management, we need to trim the fat and figure out what works and what doesn’t while also putting compassionate people in charge of students and people in general.
I like how Abbott Elementary actually shows this aspect, but it handles the problem too lightly, but the principal is basically the villain of the show.
You say this as if the Republicans haven’t been obstructing any kind of deal while constantly screaming about the problem, it’s a wedge issue that gives them power over brown folks and something to complain about the Democrats to their base about.
We’d all love for the feds to do something about it, but those performative politics dickheads need to get out of the way for it to happen.
Jodie Comer is going to be so good in something like this, she’s fun to watch. Ralph Fiennes also always brings it.
