  • Because when its good, and I mean everything is correct… its fucking amazing.

Last time I got Kentucky it was all perfect. The bun was fresh, the lettuce was fresh, just the right amount of mayo, the chicken was hot and crunchy. The chips were hot, fresh and had just too much enough salt and the pepsi was just a shade away from being frozen. It was the best chicken burger I’ve had in recent memory.

Now, this was an isolated incident. Normally I wind up slightly disappointed in something. But when its right…

  • Yeah about 20 years ago.

The vibe was different, it was racist, sexist, bigoted and homophobic jokes. Now it feels like a bunch of racists sexists bigots and homophobes telling jokes. Nobody cared about who anyone really was, it was a shittalking shitposting competition. At some point it stopped feeling like bantz, it just started to feel ugly.

Maybe I just grew up a bit, but I at least remember it being that way.

  • LTT is tech content like Donut media is Automotive content. It’s edutainment at most.

I find it funny the amount of hate that LTT gets, it’s niche entertainment and you can watch it absolutely free anywhere in the world and Linus rejected a 9 figure sum to keep ownership of something he built, say that out loud… “He turned down over $100,000,000.” Yes they flog merch and have floatplane and all that bullshit but that’s how they stay independent.

You can take Donut and Motortrend as examples of how it all goes to shit. MT were YT only, then moved to their own paid streaming platform, then sold out to a network and told all their international subscribers to kick rocks because the network deal was more money.

Or the Donut route, where you get bought by venture capital who suck all the fun out of the job, try to monetise everything and wind up having all the talent leave and go start their own channels because they took a fun job and just made it a job.

  • People love to cherry pick this argument so hard.

Aspartame is linked to a possible near zero to low increase in cancer risk. Not zero, theres enough evidence to say that some people if they drink a LOT over a LONG time it COULD cause something that MIGHT not have happened. There are multiple studies on Pubmed I can link to show this. However The evidence on excess sugar and carrying excess weight is ABSOLUTELY UNDENIABLE. The negative health outcomes for being overweight or having diabetes are just straight up facts.

So pick your poison, if you have a family history of bladder, bowel, stomach or colon cancer you may want to avoid the aspartame. If your doctor has just told you you have pre-diabetes and you’re going to lose your foot or have a massive heart attack if you don’t cut out the sugar and lose some fucking weight the minuscule risk of something thats an outside chance vs that…
