While the concepts outlined in the team’s new paper pave the way toward making travel through space nearing light speed a reality, constructing such an engine is likely something that will only be feasible far in the future, as the present state of technology would not allow for such a device.
PVC paneling for inside the home. Great. Just what we need. More plastic. :|
The title and description were taken direction from the YT video by OP. I suspect that they were intended to lure those on YT who might be more sympathetic to the idea of a “Deep State” as expounded upon by those on the far right in hopes to enlighten some about what the real deep state looks like. It’s fair to say that Lemmy, at least this instance, tends to lean the other way, so perhaps a different title would have been more appropriate here.
Time to put away the pitchforks. It’s not what the title and description might suggest. This is just an exposé by Johnny Harris on the history and overreaches of the intelligence apparatus here in the US .
Aside from the one line of text in the description, at no point does the video attempt to repudiate the great orange troll.
They’ve upped their funny
But then they find that by occupying that country their new home is no longer any better than their old home, so then they have to attack another country to find a better home.
Well that was a bit of an unexpected roller-coaster.
Besides some of the other good points brought up here, I’d like to say that it’s because communist countries typically were/are anti-religion, so it makes sense that religious leaders in capitalist countries would oppose any form of government that seeks to limit organized religion. So, they support capitalism because it’s the opposite of communism.
As disturbing as this was to read, it was nice to know there were still some honest and clear-headed people working in the government at the time this shit went down.
Good, but unnecessarily long video. There were some funny bits and good examples, but it dragged on and more or less devolved into a rant video.
The correct assertion that AI doesn’t really (currently) exist could have also been better explained. Good examples of why that is true were talked about, but not in service of reinforcing that statement. Instead, the assertion was used to punctuate the examples. So good examples and correct points, but it feels like the argument could have been better made.
This is a Veritasium video. Despite the clicky-baity title it’s not an indictment of democracy. He’s just talking about the mathematical problems inherent in different voting systems. YT Link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qf7ws2DF-zk
