Well, my opinion is that: 1. It is largely a popularity contest and Trump is still insanely popular with his crowd and Biden is not popular in general 2. The Maga crowd will certainly vote, so the Democrats would need to be united and show up to beat that. With any real doubt about Biden, I think a large enough to matter amount of Dems will either not vote or vote for other.

We are in a damned if you do damned if you don’t situation. Three months ago I would have said Biden would most likely win by a very slim margin again. Now I would say there is a real chance for it to go the other way. However, replace him, and like you said that person is also very unlikely to win at this point.

I think with the US, it comes down to that number being an average and how big the spread is between states. North East and West Pacific states spend WAY more than South Eastern, but it averages out to something seemingly reasonable.

To put in perspective, the population in 1980 was about 4.5bln. So we could erase almost half the global population and still have a workforce like 1980. 8 BILLION is way more than ever needed to exist (at the same time).

I see a lot of dismissal of this idea here. I think a lot of people think the statement means just arbitrarily turning it off. Maybe it does, he is an incompetent moron. However, if we look at real life historical precident on how countries have disabled internet access in their countries, it usually immediately precedes a coup. So I could see him (or another R in the near future) attempting such a strategy at the end of term in order to seize control and stay in power.

I view medicine in the US similar to video piracy. If you are going to make access expensive and difficult to obtain, then I have no issue with stealing it. Medical debt is handled differently than other types of debt. IANAL, but I have no qualms with running up a 700k medical debt for life saving treatment then bouncing on the bill.

I would argue that if the government makes a mistake then it is on them to own the problem, not the citizens. I might make an exception for a partially large mistake, but presumably most people would report if they suddenly received a million dollars in their social security check so I doubt it would be that big of an issue. Any smaller mistakes should be a write off.

It was ok. It had character building that was a bit long and dull, but the good parts were really pretty good. The one thing that did strike me as weird was it couldn’t decide if it was a movie for kids or not. There were a few ghost scenes that seemed too intense for children and some of the character building I mentioned would bore a child to death and also be above their heads. On the other hand, a good portion of the ghost scenes were just good fun. It was confusing.

I’d give it 3.5/5.
