This is exactly what has me irritated about this whole nonsense… People have been doing that since Photoshop existed, but big scary AI is in the news now so we are going to attack it full force because people are using it in the way they’ve used everything that has similar capabilities…

Still no action on our actual issues though, just some performative bullshit to assist the truly needy of our society, billionaires…

So… Putin can’t take Ukraine and is losing a not insignificant part of their military capabilities and yet we’re concerned that we’re going to deal with more war with Russia? Are they going to be coming after Europeans with sharpened sticks?

Breakfast cereal has evolved into a “new” market for candy makers… Reese’s cereal?? Just brand it as breakfast and people somehow think they’re not feeding their kids candy for breakfast… I used to buy that kind of stuff for a dessert snack lol

In our society it’s literally stupid NOT to do these things. If you got rich doing it you “won.” Fuck the general population, fuck “good” things, fuck literally everything, C.R.E.A.M.

Apparently we’re discovering that our type of star system with its long periods of stability and lack of local disruptive bodies is incredibly, incredibly, rare… There are a (literal) astronomical amount of systems out there so there’s no way we’re the only one with life, but it’s really looking like there could only be a “handful” of others out there :/

It’s in opposition to what is objective, I don’t understand how someone could think if one exists the other can’t…

But I also don’t understand why people were eating Tide pods so…

I have some friends like this… It’s so frustrating. They have no idea how lucky they are to be so interested in such lucrative careers… They’d literally sit at home during the summer and work on things they found interesting. Yes they worked for it, I’ll never say they didn’t, but they didn’t have to FORCE themselves to do it, they were having fun…

Now they’re wealthy and enjoying work while I’m stuck in a literal sweatshop because everything I find interesting are just hobbies that can’t be monetized… But fuck me for not being “valuable.”

I’m really having a hard time thinking about what jobs this would create though. I get the internet thing, as people needed to create and maintain all aspects of it, so jobs are created. If some massive corporation makes the AI and all others use the AI, there’s no real infrastructure. The same IT guys maintain the systems at AI corp. What’s left to be done with it/for it by “common folk?”

I always just say “I’d be better if you were checking my prostate” but I always get kicked out right after! I can never quite put my finger in why though…

I feel like there’s also a “locked out” effect… As in I’m locked out of the housing market entirely now. It’s insanely frustrating as I was just working on a promotion that would leave me comfortably affording the cheaper houses, then covid screwed everything… Now I’d be paycheck to paycheck in a dilapidated shithole in the worst parts of the worst towns around and the way housing seems to work, it’s just infinite growth forever so it’s never going back down…

While true, my theory is that they might also want something else. I use a plate and sometimes she’ll just beg for more anyway even if half of what I gave her is still in the bowl, I’ll give her a tiny bit of something else and she’ll go eat that instead lol

This is pretty much it for every culture war bullshit flavor of the year. Republicans can’t win on policy because their REAL policies that they actually want are just “more money for ultra wealthy.” That’s it. That’s the whole Republican agenda, more money for the ultra wealthy by cutting taxes and cutting OUR entitlements so the country can afford to not tax the wealthy. More money for the wealthy by cutting regulations that PROTECT US. More money for the wealthy by allowing mergers, monopolies, etc…

They need people to vote for them so they find a topic to have their propaganda outlets focus on and suddenly it seems “organic” when in reality the people are being manipulated to all be mad at the same thing at the same time. it’s sad and hilarious that they also consider themselves “free thinkers.”
