The original is probably my favorite console game of all time (mmmm…or tied with Paper Mario TTYD). I’ve purchased and downloaded, but won’t start playing until later tonight. I can’t wait.

Is the parka just to keep warm, or specifically to add bulk? Because I think that extra size is what really makes the 3rd on stand out and look more intimidating.

As a Portland native though, it feels so wrong in B&W. It’s not, obviously, but I’m so used to color photos and seeing it in real life that it’s a bit jarring.

While I would gladly take more years of him being alive, Carlin had gotten really bitter in the years before his death. Where previously his rage was playful and tempered with humor and wit, his later stuff was just angry. It was a disappointing change.

That’s way more thorough than I would have expected!

Just a few thoughts…

• Lemmy isn’t ready for primetime. It isn’t meant to be at this point. It’s very much a work in progress and for a lot of us, seeing the progress is part of the fun in being here.

• Yeah, lemmy.world had some issues, but things have been pretty stable for me for a few weeks now.

• I’m on Eternity, and no issues so far. But I’ll keep an eye out when lemmy.world updates to 0.18.5. Again, this is part of the progress. Sometimes shit breaks. If that’s a deal breaker for you, it’s totally understandable.

• I guess ultimately, it’s just about what you’re comfortable with. If you aren’t interested in dealing with the issues that come along with early adoption, just move on. It’s okay. For me, I’ve been breaking and fixing computers for almost 40 years. It can be a bummer when something doesn’t work, but there are so many people freely giving their time and efforts to fix things that I can’t really be mad about it. I know how it goes and that things will get fixed.

Not hard enough because the TV remote has never so much as shimmied in my direction from the other end of the couch, no matter how hard I try.

Ahhh. See, I usually couple my attempts with something like “you God damned piece of fucking shit just fucking open why do they even put these stupid fucking things on here.” I’ll try just grunting though.

Yeah, it was the subfolders. I found another post with some good details on how to name the files. Still working through some issues, but getting there!

Thank you SO much. There were a lot of blanks to fill in with the doc page. I was putting the theme files in subfolders rather than renaming (though I suspected that was my issue). Then it says to use v4 themes, and those KIND of worked, but kind of not. v5 seems good so far. Still a bit more to figure out, but you’ve been incredibly helpful!

Were you able to figure this out? Because honestly, this post is already 10x more helpful than the theming page in the Lemmy docs.

Not to speak for @stux@geddit.social, but no, it really doesn’t. I’ve put additional themes in subfolders in the extra_themes directory, but they don’t show up in the theme picklist. There has to be something missing in that doc page.
