Added fresh batteries and some film and going to see how they turn out. Crazy find.
You overpaid 😉
I haven’t looked at what film cameras cost but $16 for anything these days seems nice. I think I would get more than $16 worth of enjoyment out of it. Now the hard part is going to be finding Eckerds /s
Just look for a Publix, there’s an Eckerd’s next to the Chinese restaurant.
Unfortunately the only current “Eckerds” are just Rite-Aids in a costume.
RIP true Eckerds, 2007, you are missed.
Yeah, I guess that’s true. There’s a lot of online auction hype pricing for anything that shoots film anymore.
I looked online and it looks like these go for 120$
I think those are hype/fad prices on eBay. These types of Olympus cameras are pretty “meh” (no offense). There are other models in this similar model range that have things like zoom, manual focus, and external flash, but they’re just largely meant to be pretty generalized family point and shoot cameras.
If you’re looking for something with some personality that shoots 35mm, look for the Olympus Range Finder models, or maybe a Yashica. You’ll get some really interesting shots with those over these PnS ones.
In general yes, but this looks like one of the highly sought after Epics, with large aperture and nice optics. Street photographers loved it.
Congratulations!
That’s an awesome find, enjoy!I vaguely remember owning one or one similar. The lens cover closes halfway and the lens retracts, then you can close the lens cover the rest of the way.
