It was just Jordan Peele, Key wasn’t involved. They just have an unrelated show together.
And “Us” is a real slow burn, I’ll agree the first half was pretty off putting but once you let it slowly unravel it’s pretty good. But I can’t blame ya for bailing.
Idk I watched Us to completion and the whole thing was pretty bad all the way through. It felt a lot like it was on the level of M Night’s The Happening. Like the whole thing was crafted around a twist that really didn’t make much sense. Like he was more worried about the allegory than making the actual plot coherent.
That’s fair and I bet a lot of people feel simmiliarly, but I thought it was thought provoking and a story told in an interesting way. But we all like different things, not trying to “correct” anyone’s opinion or anything, just I personally enjoyed it.
Key and Peeles “Us” was atrocious I tried to stick it out thinking it would get better but… walked out.

I had the opposite to you and @Cuttlefish1111 I thought the first half was good then it jumps the shark.
Still glad I watched it, I like to riff off a quote “buT tHhe GIRL had to… do the dishes with scissors” or whatever.
First movie I ever asked (and received) a refund on
