This summer’s blockbuster hit “Oppenheimer” promises to popularize a pivotal moment in world history, the decision to use the atomic bomb in World War II.
The film was about Robert Oppenheimer, not the politics surrounding the bombing of Japan which were only mentioned insofar as they affected the protagonist. At 3 hours, and following multiple timelines it was already a weighty piece of filmography. Following any more plotlines, no matter how noble and timely the subject, would have distracted from the film rather than added to it.
All of this other information is important, and more people will hear about it because interest in the film brings interest to stuff surrounding the film. Which is where articles like this one, written ostensibly as a complaint about the movie, can nab attention and spread awareness.
What’s unfortunate about that process, though, is that the “written ostensibly as a complaint” part can put people off from seeing the film. And people should definitely see the film. It is telling a story that ought to be told, and doing so in a phenomenal fashion.

Yep. I absolutely agree.
