The Coens are probably my favorite filmmakers, with True Grit being my favorite of theirs. It has an amazing cast, sublime landscapes, and an incredible revenge/coming-of-age narrative in which all the characters have believable motivations and clever dialogue.

    No Country for Old Men. Lebowski and Miller’s Crossing are wonderful, but Old Country is a masterpiece.
