Lately the most frequent ide/editors I’ve been using are sublime text, eclipse, and teXworks. I’d like to replace sublime text, maybe go back to emacs or give neovim a try. I’ll probably get rid of eclipse once I can replace the ee containers with self contained apps, I used vs code for a bit with java and it was fine but the ee server container integration wasn’t great, this was a couple years ago I last tried though.

More than most would guess I bet. Most movies have very limited release if any in theaters, and may have been part of a film festival or just someone who wants to try their hand at directing and producing and was watched once in one screening then never seen again. There’s archives to try to preserve some of it but not everything gets submitted for archival or preserved.
The command line is an exceptionally useful tool, you may want to spend a little time getting familiar with it and common command line tools that would probably make self hosting almost anything easier.
It’s like wanting to learn to play guitar but not learning how to restring and tune it, sure it’s not necessary but you’re going to be overly dependent on others to do something you could learn for yourself with a little time and patience, and it will probably broaden your perspective on what you can do once you do get familiar with how to pipe commands together and combine basic tools into something more sophisticated and complex.

Easy, awards aren’t granted on technical or creative merit as often as they are praising the people and institutions the award electors prefer.
It probably felt a lot less like selling out and more like making it in 2014/15 joining a MCU cast and before getting a decade of those checks from Disney. Not saying all MCU movies are bad, but there is an obvious commercialism to them downplaying the more artistic subversive and counterculture history from comics. I don’t think it would make sense to hold that against anyone though, plenty of actors and directors take on a mix of more commercial and artistic projects.
Some non tech book genres to add for devs and leads I think would be about the history of the computing/IT industry, labor history in general, hacker and maker culture, writings/letters of some of the researchers and engineers like Turning, Von Neumann, Dijkstra, Knuth, etc, and some classical and neoclassical literature.
I think sci-hub is a healthy contender to arXiv, but they are both pretty amazing and just need a better system for engaging accredited peer review/public review comments to replace predatory for-profit journals.
The requirements for justice includes truth (objective facts of reality not merely opinion or belief or rumors) for accountability, attacking education prevents an ability to evaluate if something presented confidently as truth is truth. It’s a fast track to corruption and injustice.
Putin, Trump, Erdogan, etc style of extreme right wing populist propaganda is to attack truth and prevent justice by weaponizing ignorance. They’re spreading a firehouse of distracting lies, for example staged attacks against people representing their beliefs on facebook and twitter, to a public who is at least in part unable or unwilling to critically evaluate facts of reality from propaganda lies. Another more general example is if you’re not aware of confirmation bias and how it’s used and works due to a lack of education you are going to be much more susceptible to it’s effects when used.
People aren’t necessarily getting dumber other than some temporary dips due to toxic environmental things like lead in fuel or maybe some effects of toxicity we’re not aware of yet, It’s just the people who were already susceptible to fascist rhetoric & con artists are being indoctrinated against education as either unnecessary or harmful, which makes them easier to continue to mass propagandize to with more methods that have fewer rules platforms need to follow compared to older mass media propaganda like newspapers or network TV news.
