No advice but for what it’s worth, I’m doing the same thing at work now. Just wanted you to know I relate. Sorry your job sucks. I hope you find another soon
I grew up near Westboro Baptist in Topeka. We all knew where they lived because they fly the US flag upside down. They say “the US is in distress because of all the sinning”. Basically, because they hate LGBT+ people.
And I can’t start boycotting Subway. I already don’t eat there because 1) subway takes advantage of franchisees and their employees for other reasons and 2) their food isn’t good.
It’s my fault! Sometimes, I don’t explain myself well in text! Sorry about that!
I definitely care, just didn’t know that kind of thing was happening or that it was legally allowed to happen until she mentioned it and I researched it.
It’s also infuriating because now that I know it’s a problem, I don’t know what to do about it and I feel helpless to make effective change.
I did too until last year when I realized Subway was making my 16 year old niece work for 9 hours with no lunch and no breaks.
Even minors, don’t get lunches in red states.
You’re not alone. I feel this way too. I don’t know what else to do so I’m just going to keep going, but it definitely seems bleak at times.
I love making things and I love figuring out how stuff works so at least it’s not a chore for me.
I’ve used Klarna to pay for doctors appointments because we live in a hellscape.
They can’t sell. Their adult children have to live with them since they can’t afford anything else.
Idk. It’s a little bit of both right? I mean if you go see Pride and Prejudice because you want to see some epic fight scenes, you’re going to be disappointed.
Nothing has made my computer slower than trying to open Excel. FFS. You need min 32GBs of RAM and a 4060 for that thing.
I grew up pretty close to St. Mary’s. It’s a small town, probably like 3k people sorta between Topeka and Manhattan KS. A bunch of St Pius Catholics moved there and now they fight about it with the original citizens.
Keep in mind, this isn’t far from Westboro Baptist Church and a surprisingly large population of Mormons near Kansas City. Honestly the fact that they didn’t support this guys is pretty wild considering.
Small town KS has been increasingly left moving. My gay aunt was elected mayor of a different small town. The raid on the newspaper, has people rolling back (some) support in police, and while driving on some backroads near cattle farms, I saw a large amount of signs supporting Biden vs Trump in the election. It was pretty surprising.
I work in commercial loans for a living. I can’t speak to other properties that aren’t securitized, but they can’t exactly just take your property without approval. there are exceptions to the rule but it would still require a lengthy and pricey legal process.
Thanks! I hadn’t looked into this, but I think this would work, especially since mostly, I just want to write code from my living room or outside and not sit at my desk all day.
I have a keyboard attachment for my iPad so this would probably work perfectly.
I was talking to my teacher about how annoying flex box columns are and he was saying it wasn’t designed with columns in mind and he expects it to be updated in some future version of CSS. But until then, it depends how you want the box to grow/shrink.
I also found, you can trick it into a column while still using a row if you give the items a 100% width of their container and let them wrap to the next row. It might not always be right to do that, but it could probably work in some situations if it’s not going well in column format.
Good luck!
Yo! I’m in exactly the same place in my Odin Project curriculum. I’m also actually doing OpenClassrooms bootcamp (through my employer). I didn’t struggle too much with flex (except in column format. It’s so bad.) feel free to DM me and chat about it if you want a project partner! I’m on discord too. Same username.
I agree with you. I think this is a way to introduce people who aren’t tech-savvy into Activity Pub and Fediverse, which is ultimately a good thing.
Yes, Meta has a history of being untrustworthy, but I think a place that allows communication between a large population isn’t a bad thing either.
I would rather wait and see when Threads is full federated and what that means. We just don’t have enough information to make a decision.
I would rather 70 million people have joined Mastodon but that’s just not how things work and we need to be realistic.
I’m not disagreeing but I also see that the judicial system is pretty bad right now.
I’m guessing if anything happened to him under Democrat lawmakers, he’d just make himself out to be a martyr. It’s kind of a lose-lose situation for Biden to do anything about. To be honest. I don’t know who has that power anyway.
