Another way to frame this is that, you can’t just magically create a singular being that’s a new species because it wouldn’t have anything to breed with. So it’s a long term gradual change of a complete population into what we know as a chicken today.

Also a bunch of other issues with small town living like lack of privacy/anonymity, entertainment, restaurants, government services, etc… And these problems get more severe the smaller the community.

But people really did spread out to smaller towns during COVID. Property values went crazy in a lot of small towns around me.

There is no one thing. Democrats have floundered for… decades. They did a thing during Obama but largely as a party they’ve done nothing for most of America except maintain.

Then there’s MAGA which is kind of a new thing. It goes beyond ideology. I’d argue there is no ideology, beyond maybe a few wedge issues that are just used to build ranks. To me it kind of looks like useful idiots being wrangled by those that control information. But the idiots are at the top and the bottom of the chain include the politicians and the electorate so it’s confusing.

People also got soft, complacent, and poorer. Lots of people just completely checked out of their civic duties. Either because they can’t be bothered, or because they’ve got more important things to worry about.

There’s probably also lots of other topics leading into the current political climate that I haven’t even touched on. Trying to explain it away as one thing doesn’t really work.

There’s so much other federal land that can be logged before going for the tourist attractions. It would just politically look bad if they did. I’d say probably not.

EDIT: You know what, on second thought, I’m still surprised every day what this administration is doing so I could see them doing it just to show they can.

I’ll usually have 2 or 3 meals in mind that’ll carry me for the week. I’ll make something that will have leftovers (stews, stir fries, etc), and other things that can be easily repeated (fried eggs, bagels, sandwiches, produce for salads, etc).

Once I get to the store things can change a bit according to what’s available or what looks good.
