Great to read the story from Adventure Log’s author. I just installed that app and I’m looking forward to trying to help improve it.

perishthethought@lemm.eeto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Software TerminologyEnglish2·2 months agoYes! Agreed. But for some reason, the only word everyone uses these days is “glitch”. And I don’t know why, but that really fries my grits.
perishthethought@lemm.eeto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Software TerminologyEnglish10·2 months agoThis is really, “what techs call it” and “what non-techs call it”.
As a tech, I usually know what someone means when they “app”.
It’s “glitch” that drives me mad though. Glitch sounds like a ghost caused the error one tine only, versus some lazy coder.

Trump gets richer.
We just go back to Ma Bell, but this time with internet?
If Trump gets richer while that happens? Yes.
This, really?

But yeah, they still suck.

Maybe Tailscale would help you? (I’ve not used it though)
Or, instead of allowing port 80/443 traffic in, what I have is a random port used by my Wireguard VPN opened only. But I have to connect thru that when I’m not at home. I. E. only I can access my web server.

But here’s a post where I asked for help on this subject, and where I got the idea to write my own app. There are a number of other ideas in there, and one really good HTML/JS app from github that does the same thing but is way better.
perishthethought@lemm.eeto Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•Most programmers just google it anywayEnglish132·4 months agoOh! I just did this (used an AI chatbot to help me code a web app) to easily resize images.
It was a great experience and I only edited about 5% of the code it provided. I used the bot via DuckDuckGo. The app is simple, eh, but it works. Would vibe code again fer sher.
You know the songs on Spotify are not yours, right? You were just renting them?
I’m not saying you shouldn’t try to collect them now for use in Navidrome, but calling them “your songs” is just grating on me for some reason.
Also, I am a Spotify subscriber and just now tried to use yt-dlp with it but got this error:
