Where at? I’m also in southern ab, but the trees around me seem to be fine.

Check out orangewebsite, they are from Iceland and are pretty private. Ive been using them for around 4 years and have had no issues!
p.s. I only use their domain registration service and not the hosting, so I cannot comment on that.
No script is redundant with ublock origin on advanced mode.
A couple of my favourites :
And, if you have a good computer that can emulate switch games, I would highly recommend BOTW and TOTK as you’ve mentioned in the post. The best open world games there are.
I would rather just making a wireguard vpn and having control of my data, but privacy might not be his concern.
+1 for Deemix. ARLs are easy to find and the metadata is flawless for the 1-200 or so songs I have.
https://esc.sh/projects/devops-from-scratch/ is a good resource. Most questions you have (that are more specific) are easily searchable on the internet.
ways to safely connect to home servers over the internet while away A couple methods include :
when it may be better to spin up services on a VPS instead
Most services you probably won’t need a VPS to do, but off the top of my head a couple services which would be better hosted (not saying self-hosting them on your own hardware is bad) would be services which proxy a service. Example SearxNG, Invidious, Proxitok, etc. This is so that traffic can be shared among multiple users, and not linked back to your home IP.
Switch emulation is actually pretty good now, so we have hope.
A very unique thing to do, and I fully support it. Love this type of engagement.
Lovely photo.
2 things (one of which you mentioned)
Lobbying in the tabacco industry is crazy strong, they have so much money that, much alike to the oil industry, they will keep selling their products no matter the risks.
There’s also the fact that the government makes money off the sales and imports of tobacco products. The revenue is strong enough to counter the money spent on healthcare, etc.
Really like homepage. Simple to install, easy to modify and “beautify”; though it’s barely used in my household since my family only cares about Jellyfish and nothing else…
To connect via a domain name I would recommend using a VPS as a reverse proxy to your server. This is easily done by initiating a Wireguard connection to the VPS, then connecting to your home server via the domain which points to the VPS’s ip. Quick google search got me this.
And for wolfgang’s blog, all he’s doing is setting up NPM then pointing Nextcloud’s ip+port to his domain name (which is a DuckDNS). For truenas scale I found this, which basically says that Traefik is a better reverse proxy for scale.
Note: I have not used TrueNAS Scale at all, so take my info with a grain of salt. I personally feel as if using Proxmox and then making 1x TrueNAS Core and 1x Linux containers would be easier, but I digress. Let me know if you have questions.
No, you’re right, it does not sync. Usually I do this on longer durations without internet, else I just use a webapp (on mobile) or the website on PC.
I honestly prefer Kavita even though I do not download comics or manga. Their reader is so nice, specially with the themes. 0 issues on my end except for indexing, which the dev promptly fixed after I reported the issue.
I use Moon+ Reader pro on my android, and on my iOS I simply make a “webapp” of the website.
If it’s designed for maximum grind I’m not too sure I’ll like it. My tolerance towards grinding isn’t the best.
How’s diablo 4 for a (I’m guessing) casual player? Was looking to pick it up but haven’t heard that much positive about it.
Good news, there are agencies which looks for these vulnerabilities and report the issues to manufacturers! But, usually the person who makes the botnet patches the vuln. after they infect the device so no one else can take control of it. So, unless the owner of the device apart of the botnet updates software after a fix is implemented and factory resets, nothing can be done to ‘remove’ the device from the botnet.
Get a .ca domain (assuming you’re Canadian), it’s the same price as a .com and the prices don’t change much since they’re controlled majorly by the govt.
