Copyrighting voices to defeat AI would achieve nothing. Modern AI’s can be overtrained to the point where they strongly resemble their training data, but that is a problem that will be fixed within the next 5 years, which is way earlier than we will see any legislation regarding AI if our geriatric government is anything to go by. After that, AI will generate its “own” content that will be legally protected as its intellectual property.

I base this off of the fact that every media from humans is inspired by previous media. Fundamentally, once it stops directly plagiarising, there is no legal distinction between what a human would be doing and what an AI would be doing, unless we want to come up with a legal classification of “human” that explicitly rejects AI.

That opens up a whole new can of worms though. If you define human to be having human dna, does that mean the 3 babies they have been genetically altered are not human? Or are they, because they comtain at least some human dna? Does that mean i can give my AI a vestigial organ and now its legally protected? Does it have to run off a brain? What is a brain? If i duplicate the neural connections in a brain with mosfets down to every single connection, that is indisputably a human intelligence running on possibly non human hardware depending on the word of law. Or is it a human intelligence? They would react the exact same way to their organic counterpart, down to having the same memories and emotions. Does their non-biological hardware preempt them from being human? Does a pacemaker? Or neuralink?

Theres a lot to be worked out here, but it seems to me to be much less problematic to target the people wanting to misuse AI rather than targetting the tool itself.

The issue with the leftists as youve described them is that AI IS happening. There will be no stopping it, no containing it. Its already reshaping our world. And by downplaying its future potential(ai will never be able to identify objects, oops it can now. AI will never be able to make art, whoops it can now. AI will never be able to replace a human in every industry…) you are actively stiffling discussion on how to manage those effects. Anyone who has been seriously following AIs progression over the last ten years can see the patterns on the wall. The time of human workers is over. The only question is whether were going to use AI for the benefit of everyone, or for the benefit of the elite. And by convincing consumers they shouldnt use, even though you cant convince the elite not to, you are only pushing the dial further in the wrong direction.

RIGHT NOW we need to embrace AI. Humans have already shown that we are either incapable or unwilling to run a functional society. Putting something else in charge to make the decisions humans cant or wont is the only possible future we have. Ofc Im not asking to out an llm in charge of the world. But I am asking that people actually do something about their world leaders and start getting ubi implemented today. Because soon enough we will have an AI capable of making those decisions. And make them it will. And thats either a good thing under the post scarcity society weve built, or people rolled over and ignored the problem until they decided they dont need us anymore and get rid of us.

I dunno, at this point im pretty sure trump could demand the death or every first born and americans would bend over. It is beyond wild that we have not had an armed uprising yet, and i gave up hope that we will ever have one years ago.

Ive been talking to a bunch of my ex friends that voted for trump. It seems the problem isnt neccassarily disinformation, the issue is that people want to be dumb. Most people CANNOT have a single conversation about politics. The lowest level of analysis hurts their brain. They just want someone to rally behind who gives me them an out group. I don’t see a realistic solution to working with these people when they seem dead set against allowing the world to improve. The closest i can think is an education test to vote, but that comes with some serious issues.

I spent a couple minutes searching and i cant find anything about that. That would be some pretty cool lore and go a ways to explain why humans are compatable with so many species. I did find some sources that state that humans were their preferred slaves, and that they massively helped humanity by taking their slaves all across the galaxy during a time when the infinite empire was the only group to have hyperdrive tech. Humans were working to colonise their solar system and the surrounding areas when we got conquered by the rakatans. It is worth noting that coruscant is the cannonical home world of humans in star wars, which means the rakatans at one point conquered coruscant. It’s also worth noting that “Earth” does exist in legends lore, han solo goes to Earth and i think he fights dinosaurs, i cant remember.

I believe the general sterility was related to dark side degredation. They really just got brutally fucked by abusing the dark side as an entire culture and species. Which like, fuck them, they’re evil, but damn they really shot themselves in the foot.

As for gathering genetic data from the lesser races, I do not recall. They wanted to wipe out all other races afair so i dont see why they would want to keep their dna around, and from the rakatans i remember, their race would rather die than intentionally infuse themselves with the lesser races dna. They did conquer huge swaths of the galaxy and kept most everything theyd find as slaves, but those were viewed as highly expendable, not even worth treating decently enough that they survive the year.

As a result of being around their dark tech for so long, it made them a more brutal, savage race than they already were. That culminated in them creating a supervirus with the intention of unleashing it upon everything that wasnt rakatan. But their slave races got wind of the virus, stole a sample, and altered it. Now, it only effects the rakatans and cuts them off from the force. I dont remember much of kotor 2 but i’d have to imagine kreia had some pretty interesting things to state on the matter considering the similarities between kreia’s goals and their goals.

Yeah that would be my guess. You can see ton of damage on the far side, clearly more than just the random shaking of an earthquake. It looks like the tower gets yanked out from underneath itself, so that side is definitely getting yanked. I didnt see a clear shot of the damage on this side outside of the shed getting ripped in half, but that could be chalked up to it being on the fault line. And honestly it wasnt as wild as I would’ve expected given how much each side moved. Id’ve figured the shed would’ve gotten clearly ripped in half.

I wonder if youd feel yanked on either side of it. Like one side is clearly going to feel as though the ground moved under them, but i wonder if it felt that way on both sides? Were they both moving relative to stationary earth or did only one of them move?
