Because a starter motor draws a hundred amps or so. The solenoid ensures that closing the circuit is done as quickly as possible to limit sparking - and also keep the sparking as far from the driver’s fingers as possible. Also, it’s closer to the starter motor and the battery, so the cables are short and don’t waste as much power as if they had to snake through the firewall - not to mention the PITA of routing monter copper cables through the firewall.
Prez Ramaphosa got a call from Zelensky right after the meeting, saying “Ah! You got Trumped! Join the club!”
It’s probably the cost to produce them. That’s real countable money.
The Cybertruck has always been a vehicle designed by a childish mind for equally puerile customers. Now it’s also a strong indicator that you might be a bit of a Nazi if you own one.
So yeah, I don’t expect it to sell too well, as most motorists are adults who tend to dislike Nazis, or would prefer it if they didn’t have to worry constantly about their vehicle being defaced by non-Nazi adults.
I’d rather have a president who needs to be in a wheelchair than one who needs to be in a mental institution.
Hell, the last prez in a wheelchair was pretty great.
Trump says planned gift of luxury plane from Qatar is a very ‘transparent’
dealcase of corruption
There, FTFY.
It was really candid! Here’s a transcript:
DJT: I want a deal.
Xi: Fuck you.
DJT: But you need to make a deal to access the American market!
Xi: Fuck you.
DJT: Maybe I could lower my stupid tariff to half the stupid value.
Xi: Do what you want.
DJT: Can we be friends?
Xi: Fuck you.
Morality lessons from Bill Gates. The mind boggles…
Nah. Those evil henchmen look menacing. This is a real photo of a Trump cabinet meeting:
Youtuber Johnny-come-lately gets way too much attention.
How about early Hitler?
With such sharp partisan divides, the GOP having unified control and the rich having a vested interest in keeping this dead horse of an economy alive, that’s not a realistic option.
I guess what I meant was, how do even GOP critters stand for this? It’s supposed to be the party of law and order, and they behave like servile little yes-men fascist enablers.
I’ve never had any great love of the Republican party, but even I admit that the staunchest traditional Republicans had 10 times more morals and principles than those MAGA asswipes and would have done something about their rogue fascist racehorse with the Democrat minority. The current crop of fake Republican magats is appalling. That’s what’s truly unbelievable.
Any past POTUS who would have said or done a thousand of what this demented orange peel says and does would have been impeached faster than you can say “Does that guy sound fascist or is it just me?”
How is this madman still in office? How is that even possible?
All Trump’s cabinet picks were doomed from the start.
I have an idea: I’m gonna tattoo “NOT” on my knuckles, so that when someone photoshops “MS13” on my hands, Trump won’t deport me.
Genius!
She must have been one of the alien enemy toddlers mentioned in the Alien Enemies Act.
Do we call ICE the Gestapo now or is it too soon?
It’s way worse than that because what’s on the line here is the ability of the GestapoICE to wait for immigrants in courts, effectively depriving them of due process. Because who’s going to show up in court when they know they’ll be arrested and sent off to a Salvadorian concentration camp?
The judge didn’t need to be cuffed and stuffed. This was a show to warn other judges that this shit is coming to their courthouse too.
In complex cases where speed is less important than maintainability, I tend to agree.
In this case, a simple comment would suffice. And in fact nothing at all would be okay for any half-competent Python coder, as testing if lists are empty with if not
is super-standard.
I have written off the United States myself. And I’m a former American. My personal date for the official death of the American republic is Apr 14 - the day Trump disobeyed a court for the first time.
If you think I’m being dramatic, consider this: Kilmar Abrego García is still in a concentration camp in El Salvador.
With that in mind, I’ll be pleasantly surprised if America recovers from this bout of MAGA fever, but I’m not holding my breath. Reich however, being still an American and still living in America, and still involved in trying to make Things Better™, obviously has a different outlook and is probably more hopeful than I am.
At any rate, Reich is always informative and pedagogic, and always worth a watch.
