Then use knowledge of science and tech to build myself a reclusive retreat where I can have regular baths and write books with predictions to mess with the world 650 years after I would die.

Driver less cars, because cars in the US have less safety regulation and laws applying to them, so the US is likely to continue trying to make them a working technology. Planes already have alot of automation, but law requires a human pilot with alot of training.

Other then including that, I agree with you.

In many US rural areas, home internet connections have a monthly cap just like mobile networks do. A higher cap costs more, if it’s available at all.

They aren’t making money off what they have deemed ‘out of production’ equipment, so the search for endless profits means they need a ‘new’ machine to be bought at a frequent pace.
It’s about profits, not people. Bottom line rather then bottomless life.

Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How the fuck do you meet new people?6·11 months agoIf your local library isn’t too far, you could go there. Most public library’s have events or clubs they host, ours has it all on a corkboard near the door so people can see what’s coming up. If you pick one, you know what the other people in it are interested in (for the hours they’re at the club or event anyway) and you can use that as a starting point. If one club or event doesn’t work for you, try a different one next time, you’ll most likely meet a whole new bunch of people with a different topic of interest.
Whelp, time to be going. leaves lemmy for the night
Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto World News@lemmy.world•Pope calls for universal ban on surrogacy in global roundup of threats to peace and human dignityEnglish41·2 years agoSounds to me like there is a class of people that shouldn’t continue to hold position. Even Jesus said the rich where detestable. “It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle then for a rich man to enter heaven.” Once ‘rich’ and ‘poor’ aren’t a viable distinction anymore, the problem you describe is resolved. Not that other problems wouldn’t be present, just saying some change is needed.

Perhaps look into the symptoms of ADHD? I had this same issue for a long time, swinging between being hyperfocused and then not being able to stand the task or project for a second longer. Turns out I have ADHD and just never got diagnosed. Now, I have a name for why I swing between these two extremes.

I loved Deus Ex Human Revolution, it was my intro to the series and still one of my favs. I woild also recommend something a little more sandbox, like Minecraft or Lightyear Frontier, just for the sheer time sink these games can be. Farming and building can make you lose track of hours at a time, great for travel.
I could also recommend something like Be my Hoard. Trying to get over an hour on a run is a fun way to burn an hour, if you like rouge-lite styles.
If you like driving, something like American Truck Simulator or Euro Truck Simulator is another great time sink.
